/rant preparation

I come to these boards often, especially this one as I INTEND on being at least CLOSE to Master Musician/Master 2h Swordsman. Anyway:

I hear all this talk about bands, and macros and all this stuff.... and it is COMPLETLY new to me. I ONLY play in the Bestine Cantina, but I have never seen an AFK do Macros, just basic music w/o flourishes. Everything here is new to me. But that doesnt even bother me, its the fact that not ONE person has said anything about Gorath! I guess we have a band called the Misstells or something, but I'm NEVER seen one or heard them. I know of one person that is almost master musician, never seen one. In fact, I hardly EVER see a NOVICE musician unless I'm in Theed or Kor Vella or something. TATOOINE PEOPLE! We are a giant dustball, and I swear thats why my Wookiee coughs every now and again! We need music because otherwise we get annoyed with "Go on mission, get xp/money..... join imperial faction..... get mowed down by rebels" and we need entertainment. Thats where I come in. A Wookiee jamming on a fanfar. I have about 4 or 5 people that play on occasion... but where are they here???

Also, I got into musicianship because there didnt seem to be many takers for it..... I've been seeing 5 or 6 sometimes in my Cantina (Bestine) playing for 2 hours sometimes, all the time seeming to be there, answering questions and stuff. Are they TRYING to be a musician, or are they just bored and want to do something. I dont want to get into an overworked profession.... Hence 2h Swordsman as well. I like being different....... it makes the game more fun! Sorry....

Musicians on Gorath? There's a million! You can't move five steps in Coronet without seeing five.

Musicians congregate.

While you are skilling up you are going to get an order of magnitude more experience playing in an Entertainment Group of 20 than you are in a group of even 15. They leave cities where there aren't many and line up to join groups with waiting lists.

Bestine is empty? Mos Eisley is often 20 plus. Sounds like there are plenty in Coronet, but I've heard Tyrena is empty. Kaadara is empty on Naboo but Theed is full.

You've also got the people who have hit Master who are spending more time out in the field now, working on the rest of their planned skills. I'm a Master myself andcould namea good 10 others off the top of my head.

Then you have the private Cantinas starting to spring up andthe bands that are playing by arrangement at parties in houses and guildhalls and the like. (I'm personally partial toThe Mistells for obvious reasons. *grin* But there are some solid Musicians either in or putting together some solid bands right now).

You may have to travel to find a 'hot spot' but they are out there, and sounding better all the time.

I know a few master musicians, but you'll find that they tend to spend a lot less time in the cantina. Many move on to work on the secondary professions. I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions to this though.
