Hey Jedi,

It's Chaple from Chilastria, I've started a business where I advertise stores via the cantina while I play. So a merchant pays me 5k/h to run ads every 6 minutes for his store. I have been doing this for about a week now and the problem we are facing is that it's hard to track who I send to his store.

So I had him make a unqiue item and label it "200 credits off.... Hand in to my Vendor ... sell for 200" what ever. Now this idea is working great because we are able to track which customers he recieves from me. Now to the root of the problem.

Everytime I try to trade while still playing the trade window bugs out... i.e. it closes prematurely. Is it just me and am I doing something wrong? If not I would like to through the idea of us being able to trade while performing. It would make my advertising business a little more fluid.

Anyone who knows how to trade while performing, please post, because /stopmusic /trade /startmusic is getting old, especially when I'm in a place where I am the only performer.

Wait for your macro to finish before you open the trade.

Also, any use of the enter key also kills the trade window. Think of your macro as typing incommands and hitting enter. If you have a specific pause time set up then you can do trades during this pause. With warning, most players can do a trade in under 8 seconds. =)

Personally I don't believe you should be able to trade while playing an instrument. But thats just me.

Anyway, I feel for those that are around you spamming them all with your 6 minute adverts.

Whats the difference between that and those who spam "tip me" or spam "Welcome yada yada yada" everytime someone walks into the cantina? Atleast my messages have a purpose and benifit people

everythime you flourish you drop out of whatever your doing

try sending a mail you drop out and your mail text switches to the chat bar

try writing a song macro and as you type you hit a flourish and it transfers back to the chat bar adn you find the last three lines of your song have not been written in the macro but the chat bar

you also cat teach while playing

is this realistic yes is it fair NO

you can build stuff and sample at the same time

you can heal and make more meds at the same time

you can shoot and heal at the same time

you can build 4 or 5 itmes at the same time with diffrent crafting tools

but this is not true with musicians

its a pain

Faydra has an excellent point..

The thing is, like someone else said, it has to do with the way the /flourish is executed which is through the chat box yet it's "invisible". Not sure how they fix it.

it's no different. It's all spam.

I think there needs to be a community bulletin board where people can put up their advertisements. Kind of like the bazaar terminals, but instead of items you would have adverts with a description and location of their business.

Niklesnitz,

I have seen alot worse spam than someone giving useful information to players, also grab a watch and time 6 minutes. You'd be amazed how long that is.

Hey Chaple, nice to see you here. Glad to hear your career is going well.

As others have already said, trading is finicky. I basically refrain from moving or touching ANY key on the keyboard while trading. And yes, I usually stop playing for that reason -- otherwise I hit flourishes out of habit.

I've been playing Anchorhead lately, Chaple, but I'll be back on Naboo and Corellia soon enough. See you in the cantina!
