Thread: Bugs and Other Issues vs. Fixes

I have made a few suggestions on how to fix some of these issues, and here are my 2 credits...

  1. Every musician in a band should be able to playwhatever song is being played for the same experience as if they were playing their highest level songand lowered to the amount they would get if they are playing an instrumentlower than their highest level instrument.

  2. Personally, I like this the way it is, but I wouldn't mind if they increased the percentage of exp you can get for the higher level instruments and songs.

  3. Jeeze, I hate this one, but I think this is a bug that weare unable tosuggesta way to fix.

  4. They seem to have already come up with a possible solution to fix this one.

  5. Give mando and song back to the musician. Replace them with one or more of thethese ideas... Give all the flashy lights to ME. Make the flashy lights increase exp for the entire band, last longer, increase the heal rate and/or decrease the cost to use them or change the cost to mind points instead of action. Decrease the action point cost of flourishes. Give only the ME the ability to do band flourishes. Give them the ability to play an instrument that musicians already have but with different pitch or tone or flourishes or flourish animations. Or put ID's ability to modify someone's physique and Dancer's exotic dance in ME and keep the mando and song where it is.

  6. I don't care about this one.

  7. Don't care. (not enough exp for me to worry about it anyway)

  8. I don't like /tipsplit, but I do like /doorcharge. Some player built structures have entry fees. When you try to enter, a window pops up asking if you want to pay or forfeit entering the building.Make that window pop up after a player hits the command to listen or watch an entertaner and give the controls to change thefee to the band leader. Divide the money made from each customer among all the entertainers. Give us the option to turn it off too if we don't want it. Leave /tip the way it is.

  9. I'm not a musician, so don't ask me for any suggestions to this one.....

  10. If they move mando and song back, I see no reason for this one.....

  11. Easy fix. just make them equipable like a regular instrument.

  12. Who really cares? Make them worth my time to even do. Give me exp for completing them as well as more money. Give me a stinking ticket to my destination too. The first time I tried to do one of these, they tried to send me to Naboo from Corellia and the reward money would only pay for half of my ticket. I realize that that may have been an isolated incident because I have done a few after that was only in a different city. Still, the reward is negligable after the shuttle ticket is purchased. Now, all I do is imperial delivery missions for money. None of the others pay nearly as much.

Entertainer'sevolution on theTest Server:

Entertainers, Dancers, and Musicians

  • Added checks and failsafes to prevent getting stuck "performing" when not actually performing.
  • Added check when player joins group to make sure they are playing the same song as the group.
  • Added messages for /bandflourishes
  • New flourishes for rhythmic dance: Flourishes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
  • New flourishes for lyrical dance: Flourishes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
  • New flourishes for poplock dance: Flourishes 5, 6, 7, 8
  • Fixed bug with /changebandmusic and band members that are not performing
  • Made /bandflourish on/off setting persist
  • Added status check for /bandFlourish on/off
  • Corrected a mixup in the Dancer dance grants.

  • Dancers are getting new flourishes and musicians are getting bug fixes.....

I agree they should get new flourishes, cause some of them are repeated over and over in several different dances. Why, though, are they concentrating on the development of dancers and ignoring the musicians and image designer's development? If I remember correctly, all of our flourish animationsuntill we get ME or Music Knowledge 2 are exactly the same.

I know these things may never see the live servers, but I think it puts into perspective where SOE's priorities are in relation to the entertainer professions. They seem to have taken notice to only the people already playing a song getting invited into a group that is playing a different song, which is #4 on our list. The dancer flourishes are #1 on their list. (Playing SW1 all the time because of a newbie is #1 on our list.) Image designers get completely ignored, but theyseem to be still developing their top 10 list.

I believe the biggest difference between our top 10 list and the dancer's is the fact that they have developed some ideas to correct the problems, making it easier for the devs to fix their problems. We have listed only the problem. Sure there are many ideas that are floating around in various places, but we really need a list of issues with some suggested ways to correct them.

    1. Groups forced to play SW1

    2. XP based on instruments and songs

    3. Quirky XP after a double flourish

    4. Continuing to play adifferent song after getting invited into a group

    5. ME vs. MM mando and song

    6. Abrupt drum loop transitions

    7. /cheer xp going to only one person in the band

    8. /tipsplit or something similar

    9. Base riff to SW1

    10. High end musician specific content vs. ME

    11. Omni and nala targeting issue

    12. Gig missions and some indication you are actually completing it.

While I don't agree with all of those problems and some of what I think are more important didn't make the list, this was the list that was submitted. I understand that there are some things that only the devs can develop ideas to fix, some of them we can provide suggestions of ways to fix them to make their jobs a bit easier. And maybe next time, our #1 problem will get some action...

Astriom, our "top five" list here in the Musician forum seems to be quite different from the "top five" list developed by entertainers. If you'll look at the thread with my first Correspondent's Report, you'll see the full list. In sum, it looks like this:

    1. More distinct sounds (rather than duplicate sounds for different horns)

    2. More songs and flourishes

    3. Some way to tip a group

    4. Better gigs and high-end content more generally

    5. Integration of newbs into bands. Some want newbs to be able to join in any song; others like the current system. I wasn't even sure whether to include this issue, since as many people seem to oppose a change as support one, but in the end the volume of posts on the matter swayed me.

Bear in mind that this was not necessarily my personal top-five list. It reflects the views expressed by people in this forum and in-game. And it will probably change, perhaps quite soon.
