Thread: Nerf Macros that demand tips, it's Not necessary
I NEVER do this, I NEVER asked people for tips... yet I am not a Entertainer whorelys on tips the whole time either. I do mission, gigs, to make the most money!

But HOW can you nerf it? HOW?!?! If you whine to the devs to nerf it, I know how they are going to solve it... by completely eradicating macros with /flourishes in it!
Prevent macros that /say anything? Prevent macros that /say the word "tip"?
There isno way to nerf Tip demands in macros without gutting a key functionality available to all players.
But it is annoying. So I send a polite ingame email to the player asking them to lengthen the cycle time between messages, or duplicate the macro and remove the /say for crowded cantinas. Having someone macro tip requests on Vreni Island is one thing. Having them do so in Theed is quite another ![]()
There is the /ignore command, but I hate doing that. My ignore list never has more than one name on it, and that usually only lasts a single 24hr period. Then I erase it. I give people lots of chances ![]()
That would require a full on court of appeals.
If it weren't for people talking in their looping macros I suspect there would be significantly more tolerance of AFK macro entertainers. Sadly talking macros are one of those things that is not ever going to have a good fix by the devs with out breaking lots of other things. This is a player responsibility issue. People need to realize that their witty phrase might be interesting once but no one wants to hear it hundreds of times in a night. Endlessly spamming a room will not get you tips, will not make you any friends and will likely end up in you getting kicked from the group that you're irritating, added to several ignore lists and possibly even reported by people for the constant spamming.
