Xyon's Battle Of The Bands Contest
Located in the beautiful city of XYON, Naboo, this event will bring together the great bands of the Chilastra Galaxy together inone place to determine which band will be called the greatest of them all and a chance to win the GRAND PRIZE of
200,000cr

Adeed for your very own Cantina

A choice of one of our fine selection of Master-Crafted products for each band member. Items included vehicles, furniture, clothing, weapons, bio-engineered pets, and much more!
Second Prize is 50,000cr plus a selection from our prize list for each band member.
Third Prize will be a full refund of the entry fee and a selection from our prize list for each band member.
This event is open to the public and will be held on January 10th, beginning at 1:00pm EST, in the Xyon Cantina. The length of this event will be determined by the number of contestants entered in the contest.
Contestants must be registered no later than January 8th, 12 noon. There will be a 1,000cr entrance fee per band. No refunds.
Judging is by popular vote of the audience and will be based upon each band's presentation, appearance, use of flourishes, personality, and audience interaction.

Contest Rules

Overt Faction members are not allowed during the competition, nor will they be allowed to enter the city. Militia members will be on hand to handle any security breeches.

Griefing, spamming, shout macros, profanity, and similar disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Also, any activity in violation of SOE's Terms Of Service will be reported immediately to the SWG Event Manager or theirrepresentative and the violator will be banned from the city.

Droids and pets are not allowed.

There will be a 100cr cover charge for the public. No refunds. Those who leave the building must repay the cover charge to re-enter. No exceptions. Contestants are exempt from the cover charge.

Xyon Core PA members and their family are not allowed to be contestants.

The order of appearance and length of band presentation is at the discretion of the Producer, Yaras Dar. All reasonable requests will be considered.

A band will consist of no less than three (3) members.

Dancers are allowed in the contest so long as they are presented as an adjuct to the band's repertoire. Limit is three (3) dancers per band.

In the case of a tie, the bands involved will be asked to do an encore presentation. If the tie is not broken by a second vote, a special panel of 5 judges comprised of select XYON city employees and the Producer will determine the winner.

Buffing will be allowed before and during a band's presentation. There are no restrictions on who performs buffing services.

Audience tipping of the bands will be allowed and encouraged.

If, due to unforeseen technical difficulties, any band loses a member(s) that causes that band to have less than the required number needed to participate; the band may play at a later time during the contest once the number requirement is met.In case oftechnical difficulties, contact the Producer during the contest by private /tell.

Failure to appear will result in forfeiture of the entrance fee. No exceptions.

Impromptu bands are allowed, as long as a band leader has been registered with the event.

Event prizes will be handed out at the end of the contest. All cash and prizes will be presented to the band leader. The Event Sponsorsare not responsible for the dispersion of funds and prizes.

The city of Xyon, and the Xyon Core PA, wholeheartedly supports the Musician Community and all Entertainers. We highly value the efforts of this most notable class of players. We are also very aware of the many issues and difficulties thatare present within this community.This is just our way of showing that wesupport you. We are offering a venue for you to exhibit your talents and also to provide a forum toshow the player community and the Devs that your profession is as valuable (and entertaining!)as all others in this game.
This is the first andonly Player Event to acknowledge the Musician Community on SWG!
It's also a good way to provide some "bragging rights" to those dedicated Musicians who have formed bands and maybe help establish some business contacts for espiring managers. Theparticipants could easily see a huge increase in gig requests, for example. The Grand Prize winner would, of course, benefit the most, and be in big demand throughout the galaxy!
Help us in this effort by participating and spreading the word among Musicians throughout the Chilastra Server.

In answer to your question...no. You do not win by default. If you're band is the only one to show up, it wouldn't be a "contest", would it? In such a case, we would give you a very nice prize anyway...probably the Second Prize with something else thrown in. Or maybe we would just reschedule until we have at least 3 bands. We hadn't considered such a scenerio, but I suppose we should. Of course, we would prefer to see a bunch of bands come to our event.
We think that this would be a good opportunity for you Musicians out there. How many people would pass up the chance to win 200,000 credits and their very own Cantina?
To intice you even more, here's some samples from our Player Event Prize list (from whichall winning band members get to choose one item)
Reinforced Cloth using skill tapes designed specifically for musicians. I'm told by the Masters (who are still working on them)that some of these have up to +20 enhancement levelson them of various types. One such cloth can fetch 100,000cr alone on the market. They will also make whatever item of clothing you want using these cloths...so you can be stylin' and uber at the same time!
Vehicles At least 2 Swoopbikes and Speederbikes will be available. Maybe a X34 too, but I'm not sure about this.
Weapons We will have a wide variety of weapons available, from Republic Blasters to Launcher Pistols to T-21s. Too many to list here. These are not noob weapons either. They are the highest quality you can get, sliced on request. I think there may even be a Flamethrower in there somewhere, but I can't confirm this.
Armor We're not talkin' cheap Bone Armor here. This is the 50+% Composite or better. One piece alone can cost you 25,000cr or more. We have COMPLETE sets available.
This is just a few of the things we are GIVING AWAY to participating contestants.

if you do happen to reschedule the event, might i suggest a later time? most of my band is west coast, and 1pm is a bit early
fortunately, the enticing opportunity to play for a large crowd has convinced them to get up early. i can't wait to play for the xyon crowd! the band is all hyped up and ready to go. we've been working on our best material
hope more bands show up, so we can show off!
The Event is scheduled on a Saturday. The 1pm EST timeframe was aimed at both US and Euro players. We felt that this would allow the greatest number of people to attend.

BTW, spoke to one of my BE donators and he said that the skilled cloths are more like +13 to +17, not +20. Sorry for the mistake on my part. They are aimed at healing skills.
I has also been comfirmed that furniture will also be available as prizes.
Our prize list just keeps growing and growing!
Upon further inspection of the time of date,Saturday is a day I have to work...
