Has anyone considered building a "clan/guild" that is a performance troupe? Musicians and dnacers that make themselves available for special events and make plans to perform at different cities all over the galaxy?

And I'm not talking just people grouping at a location but some poeple who want to do nothing but perform. They meet at a spot to make a performance plan. Highlight the higher level dancers at different times during the performance. Kill lowler level musicians at different spots for special solos by higher level musicians (masters). You get the idea.

You could messa round and using different skills macroed together maybe make a break dancer

This would take serious planning and choreography but could be a lot of fun.. get big tips and some XP possibly. You could even charge for special performances at town special events.


Too bad SWG doesn't have town criers.

This type of group would be really what the theaters were designed for. Could even do tent performances.

The more I think about this the more I like it. If anyone is interested in forming a performance troupe get in touch with me.... I might not lead it but I might be SWGs first Troupe / Road Manager.

lots have... famous fat wookiee band is our band/ troupe and its totally worth it and lots of fun... many have said w/o it they prolly would have quit the game

While technically we aren't guilds, we are still a a band. THere is also Aktrez' entertainer guild, they put on the best events for Eclipse (and devs/csrs).

i think thats the purpose of BABE on Lowca. Not sure if they go around performing in special places at certian times, but they are stricktly a dancing/musician guild i believe. This is a great idea though, and could be a way for entertainers to make osme cash. I'll suggest it to them next time i see one

Just so there is no confusion... Kyorlana is the agent for Talus Moon and if K'vera heard you say that it was Kyorlana's band she would not be happy as she still likes to think she is a freelancer funny Twi'lek that she is.

Returning to the issue though, there have been a number of bands / troupes that have come and gone on Eclipse. The most successful are 'Astral Fantasia' as mentioned by Hiam and 'Talus Moon'. Links is in my signature

I've been a member of probably the longest running troupe on Kettemoor for 4-5 months now. We've done many gigs from grand balls for imperial soldiers to very raunchy shows for pirates. Make quite a good amount of money doing it, too. So far the best paying gig was for the richest man on the server - someone who has over 500 medium and heavy harvesters under their control. The pay for that was 100,000 credits each.

Anyway, it's been great fun, and one of the things that keeps me going. We even have weekly practice where we work on new routines.

Oh, I thought I might add, the best dance xp I've ever gotten in the game was doing the imperial ball I mentioned, with probably 50-100 people (It was a generic PA hall with the main room literally wall to wall with people. It was a sea of purple names with a few blue names sticking out in the screenshots.) As I'm typically the choreographer for performances, I see most the xp. I was getting around 300xp per flourish for doing popular2. We didn't do exotic, but it is staggering to think of what it might have been.

Flurry has The Corellian Dreamers, which I, along with a few master musicians founded in the Coronet Cantina one afternoon. We've come a long way since our first performance in that cantina after our first practice. Our shows are very organized and professional, although we do seem to have a hard time keeping enough master musicians in the group. I like to hear a full band of seven to nine members, lately we've been performing with as little as two to four.

It does make fairly good money when your group practices enough to put on a quality show. Our last gig paid over 200k per performer.

I dont believe we are the only performance group on Flurry, but we certainly have enough gigs to keep us very busy!

If you are starting a band on another server, hop on over to Flurry sometime and I would be happy to give you some tips and tricks I've learned over the past serveral months.
