Based on what the devs have been telling me, being a musician and a faction member are essentially incompatible.

SCENARIO: I am covert (my usual intent when not safe at home) and standing in a cantina grinding the final healing XP to get meto master musician. In walks an overtmember of the other faction. He she/ listens to me (I do not buff them). I immediately gain a TEF flag. They kill me before I even know what is happening (being a musician, I couldn't have done much about it anyway).

Am I wrong in seeing something very wrong with this scenario?

Thought you might be interested in the latest "good advice" I have received from the honorable game developers.

They think I ought to "add" Teras Kasi Master to my skills, since it would be "funny" for a "dancer" (I am a musician and made that clear to them in my query) to beat up someone of the other faction trying to "pop" them using this shamefulflaw in the TEF "system".

Glad they are so understanding. Sigh . . . .

musicians do not gain tefs from people listening to you. you might have gotten it from trading or (medical healing) a tef player. even if i buff an overt of either faction i do not get a tef - proof of this is neutrals can buff overts. neutrals cannot heal (medical heal) overts or tefed.

Well, that was how the developers -- in their wisdom -- explained my problem to me. Could they be wrong?!

yeah they probably didnt understand you right or their feature doesnt work correctly.

besides if you got a tef from healing an overt you would get the same faction tef as the overt. you cant get a rebel tef from healing an overt imperial- that would be obserd.
