The upside is entertainers do not need resources or factories to buff. The downside is buffing takes a few minutes, even more for passive buffing, and you cannot buff yourself. It kind of sucks but I guess its not too bad.

Not entirely true; you CAN target yourself and use /listen. I've done it hundreds of times to cure mental wounds and batte fatigue in an empty cantina.I believe the problem lies in using the radial menu on yourself.

Not quite.. It has to do with performing. Even if there are two master musicians in a group listening to each other, they don't buff each other. (I'm not sure about a dancer/musician being able to buff the dancer, since the dancer isn't watching the musician, but is listening...)

While not being able to buff yourself is a nuisance, I wouldn't see it as a problem that would be worth developer time as long as we have other issues. The DEVs know we cannot buff ourselves and there is no easy fix as this is something coded into the system. A performer cannot benefit from a performance.

If there were gathering points for entertainers like cantinas, then getting a mind buff if you are an entertainer wouldn't be hard. No entertainer would charge a fellow musician for a buff. Maybe they'd ask to retun the favor wich wouldn't be too hard. But we don't have those centers any more, so getting a mind buff from anyone but yourself is hard. This is a problem, but only a symptom of the real problem.

As others said, the devs are quite aware that we want a self-buff; the issue appears to be one of coding, not any design objection to a self-buff. At least that's what the devs implied to me last time we talked about it. I've just raised it again in a spreadsheet of top issues I e-mailed to Thunderheart.

JuJutsu, I heal my own BF and mind wounds regardless of whether I /listen to myself. If I play for 3 minutes, I'm healed. And in any case, our buff is actually triggered by /stoplisten. Apparently the /stoplisten trigger doesn't work, coding-wise, for a self-buff -- at least not yet.

Well it's not just on yourself.. Because you can't buff others who are performing.

im not going to lie im grinding therw the entertainer proffessions to find the silent pro. now im doing musicisn, and let me tell you that at times i have found it to be well kind of boaring, BUT i have also found out that its quite needed on the battle feild. with the new flavor of the month profession CM on the rise mind disesae has become a big problem. with my new musician skills i have really been able to help my guild out in battle......

ok now to the point of my ramblen. i feel that the biggest problem is you cant buff yourself. what the hell is that shat??? i mean reall after all that work you dont get any personal payoff? doctors can buff them selves why cant we? i would love to beable to.... how do you feel about this? i didnt see it in the top 5 issues... what i did see over this i might add "hologrinders in the cantina" this is not something that should be in your top 5. i mean really has this been discussed? are any of you out there part time combat classes? (rifleman) who want this? i feel that this is an over site by the DEVs.

Actually I believe you can, and there is a bug involved. I was in a few parties recently (healing xp parties with radioactive sampling... I know many of you disdain those but I love em) and whenever I ran out to sample I /stoplisten and /stopwatch. At the time I was dancing not playing. In any event I noticed my Mind, Focus, and Willpower all getting steadily buffed, and the buffs were STACKING! At one point I had over 1000 modifiers to each of my focus and willpower and I believe less maybe 650-675 on mind.

When I was done sampling I went back into this guys house, I /listen and /watch before I started performing.

Fairly easy to recreate I do not know exactly how it works but you might want to check it out. I cannot imagine the intent is to allow any form of stackable buffs.

Well that answers that question. I wasn't entirely sure, but had an idea that dancers MAY be able to get musician buffs. I don't believe it works the other way around.

As to the stacking bug, I one time got someone's mind pool up to 48000, and could have gone higher if I'd felt like it. That was after they made the buffs non-stacking, and long before they made them based off base stat, not buffed stat. But I thought they had fixed that.

yeah before we had setperfor, i had somebody's focus and willpower up to over 5k. then to test if it worked he dueled a master rifleman. the master rifleman couldnt dent the buffed man.

havent tried stacking buffs since.

My goal was just to get it over 1500. I think I had it hovering around 2000-3000 once. That was good enough to make the ID experience just fly by.
