Thread: Festival of the Arts- Player Event
Hmph. I'm, erm, busy... washing my lekku, kthxbye.
okay...I've done this once before, and I do it only on very rare occasions, when the situation dictates it.
I will (AFTER the performance) let an Image Designer turn me pink. Fur and Hair, both pink. I will NOT wear those garments.
and NJ, you know you'll be there. You can wear Hawtpants when you're offstage.
Before we begin, let me start off by saying that I am a Ranger. I like Camopants and skinning animals, and I’m rarely seen inside of a city. Just so you know who this is coming from.
That being said, I am, in real life, a lover of the arts. I love festivals and stuff like that. In this regard, I was wondering how many people would be interested in organizing a massive role-playing extravaganza of the arts. Now I’m not simply talking about Entertainers playing music and dancing. I’m talking about personal, intimate expression, all done in a game. I’d like to organize an event complete with poetry, interpretive dance, short (1-act) plays, all done in a public place. I think if we get enough support going, we can ask Pex to coordinate and perhaps get a public location like the Vreni Island Theatre and have it decorated in a unique way. With the coming of Publish 20, entertaining has become more of a role-playing profession than it ever was before. In that vein, I really think it would be great for entertainers of all levels and even artistic people of other professions to get together and celebrate that artistic bond that permeates a lot of people.
I myself am a writer (I’ll be writing a poem for this event as well), so I’d love to get submissions of plays/poems/ spoken word, etc and be able to help get this event going. If there are any of you out there who are good at setting up musical performances/dance routines and are interested, let me know.
I know that there have been the Cantina Crawl events, but I’d like this to be a total experience for everyone, and at a location where many people from all over the galaxy could come and watch. Plus, it’d be a great spot to take pictures and meet lots of people. So let me know if you want to get involved, I’d really like to push this as a fun event, perhaps around the Autumn Solstice. I really want this to be an event to talk about for years, so I want to take the time to plan it properly.
I like the idea, but you certainly have your work cut out for you with that plan. It's a bit... ambitious ![]()
Do you have a particular server in mind? If this moves ahead and I can find the time, I'd gladly help, just on the off-chance that this might actually work ![]()
Well, I'm on Eclipse, and I'd love to do it there (I have a very dignified looking outfit I'd love to be able to use).
and yes, this is very ambitious, but that's why I'm trying to set it for a date a couple months off so I could get submisisons of poetry, some short plays, etc. If there is a server that is better, in terms of overall Entertainer population, I'd be happy to go there. Just know I'll need a Tailor to make me look spiffy again. Also, this would be a dressy occasion, so no H*tpants.

Eek! I don't *have* any other clothes!!!
(Sounds like a really neat event idea
I am also on Eclipse, and would be interested in participating in an event like this. Although I perform in a band on Eclipse (although many of the bandmates are dealing with real life at the moment) I'm sure we could pull together for a planned event soon. Contact me in-game (Godogo) when you have details!
so long as it's playful political satire rather than something with more of an...agenda, I'd be happy to see it!

I think I may be inspired. I will have to see what I can come up with since the "Dead Man and the Rodian" show has been put on hold. Maybe some politicial satire...hmmm.
