I sent this message to the devs to see if any response would be received.
Even though (as sad as I am to say this) I doubt at this point that we have much life left in us as a profession.
I at least hope a developer somewhere will have the sack to step up and answer us honestly...
Greetings o' great server god,
There have been several adjustments in this game that will just about destroy our favorite profession of musician, as well as the other entertainer classes. The recent changes to the entertainer profession (the removal of any need to see an entertainer to heal Battle Fatigue) has taken our last real service (and source of income) from us the faithful entertainers. Can we please at least know why we have been forsaken? No developer has come forth with an answer to this question. We are unable to compete in the game in any substantial combat role due to the CL system, so we either drop our chosen (and favorite) profession or we have to simply sit aside unable to participate. Is there a chance we will see a reduction in skill points? What do we have to offer anymore besides minor buffs that truly are not necessary. We used to be integral to the game and now are unnecessary. Even with more "specialty" buffs forthcoming, we have become a joke to the majority of the professions. This is such a long way to fall from such a revolutionary creation that we were in the beginning of the game.

We (as entertainers) begged for the removal of AFK play since the beginning of this game, and have heard that the devs were also against it, yet here we are 2 years later and not even a simple fix has been put into place. I offer (again) the simple solution that I have stated on the forums time and again. Have the User Interface not have the option to 'turn off' the AFK flag timer (remove the checkbox) then once the preset time of 5 to 30 minutes of being AFK is reached the game it either logs the player off, or simply issues a /dump command stopping all macros. This way people who have wanted to keep the ability to have recursive macros will have them yet you have solved the AFK problem. Why isn't this simple fix taken? Why can't we see some action to stop this major problem (besides the destruction of our profession)?
Can we please get an answer to these questions and be told what real use we will have in the future, or is our day at an end and is it time for us to move on?
