Thread: Cause/Solution to too tired to perform flourish bug?

I've been doing musician for over a week now and I'm almost at musicianship 4 in entertainer...a bummer. I finished dancer in 5 days and was expecting musician to go at the same rate. Little did I know of the flaws and bugs. #1 is the stupid concept that everyone must be playing the same song. Now this would be fine if the group leaders would keep the song on starwars1 so that anyone just starting musician could play. This was not the case, and after talking to the frequent leaders and even a macro to /groupchat leave song at starwars1! i fixed that problem. Now I've been running into a bug that says "You're too tired to perform a flourish!" even though my action is full. I have my action migrated high enough that it regenerates faster than my macro is set to perform flourishes (every 15 seconds). The solution I have found to fixing it so that I can perform flourishes again is to move my character (to stop playing music) and then do /startmusic; to start playing the song with the band again. The cause I'm not sure of. I was just sitting there watching my musician playing not pressing any keys and all of the sudden I received the "You're too tired to perform a flourish!" message. Now I wouldn't mind this bug so much but I'm not around often enough to watch and make sure my musician is still playing. In the past 4 days or so I've left him going all day and night only to come back and see that I've gained a total of 0 (or an amount so small thats its insignificant) and that I've been receiving the message "You're too tired to perform a flourish!"

I need a way to prevent this from happening so that I need not give constant attention to my musician to gain any significant experience. If anyone knows how to avoid this problem or a way to fix it with a macro please do share it with me!

Keep a /startmusic macro going. That should fix the problem, it worked for me....

I am suffering I guess sort of the same problem where it says

You are unable to do a flourish

yet my action is 100% and I believe its because someone stops the band from playing and when they restart it I am stuck in that mode.. Here is my macro can someone help me to fix this problem as well with what I should add or change to my macro to keep me doing musican all day and night.. I am so tired of walking in and finding I am stopped or getting this lame error

put pauses between your flourishes. don't run 2 flourishes without a pause between them.

put a /startmusic and /stopmusic and the beginning and end of your macro, respectively.

do not flourish more than 2 times in a given 10 second period of time. you will not get anymore xp, you'll only waste your action away faster.

good luck, the AFK hologrinding people can be annoying, but I see no reason for anyone to treat them withthe level ofdisrespect I see in this forum. Hologrinding, for better or worse, is part of the same game that all of you musicians play. Just help em out, and let them move on, and wait anxiously for the quest-driven Jedi revamp.

My alt is a TK/Doctor, and I make it a point to only tip/utilize non-AFK entertainers unless there's no one else around. Sometimes, AFK'ers are the only option - so you see, I'm sometimes grateful for the AFK entertainters, they provide a service when no one else is. It's better than a totally barren cantina, which just looks extremely depressing.

Yeah, any profession is flawed and bugged if you can't macro through it in 5 days. I hear Jedi's bugged even more than Musician.

Yeah, it's terrible when other people won't sacrifice their own enjoyment to help you level. Just terrible.

Yeah, I tried leaving my character on all night to get rifle XP and I didn't get any XP either. And one night, some randomly spawned creature actually killed me! How buggy is that?

Here's a radical idea: play the game. Why do you expect to blitz through on autopilot?

Hi friend. That was a nice half-assed ignorant flame to my honest question.Your arguments are all based on how you see the game as you think it should be played. Perhaps unlike yourself, I have a real life to attend to, school and work on a regular basis take up most of my time. Wan't me to stop playing because you don't think its "right"? Fine. Answer my question, help me master musician, buy my account off of ebay (silly fools) and I'll be gone.

He only bought the game to keep his computer happy anyway. It's not like he has any vested interest.

There's a reason for the rule that everyone is supposed to play the same song -- a rule that was implemented a couple months after the game went live. Otherwise, you get this awful sounding cacophany. And if you allow newbs to join in with Virtuoso, then the Master doesn't feel like he or she has accomplished much by making Master, since anyone can play it.

Interestingly, the "all must play one song" feature was, for a time, in the top ten issues for Musicians in my polling. People didn't love the rule when it was first implemented. But they seem to have gotten used to it: It's now fallen way off the charts. Maybe the reason is that no one is a newb for more than a few days any more, so the rule is sort of obsolete.
