Just as the subject says.
What is your ideal musician droid config?
What are your favorite effect mods?
I built an r3 the other day with 4 playback mods, a confetti mod and the dancing jawa mod.
Is 4 playback mods a good amount? Or would you want more, or less?

Just my $.02

Having a couple of effects is nice.

Having to delete and re-record a trak is time consuming. More playback slots are better. I think you've got the right mix there.

I'm a combat bloke, but very good friend of mine is a pure entertainer. She played with both the effects and the playback modules, and after a week or so her feelings were that the effects are cute, but ultimately not very useful. She'd use them more for dancing than as a musician. The playback module, however, she is ecstatic about. And having multiple playback modules to pre-record several different song/instrument combinations is really useful to her. Ultimately, the droid she wants now is 1 10-item storage, 1 med use 110%, 4 playback modules.

As many entertainers do, she has medic skills to heal others and stim herself when her action runs low. The med use module is useful to her, but is not ultimately a hard requirement for her in a droid.

The 10-item storage, however, *IS* a hard requirement. She has 5 droids, all with 10-item storage, and all of them are full. She will never buy a droid that does not have 10-item storage in it. Why? She despises wearing a backpack. It just is not appropriate for an entertainer performing to wear a backpack -- it looks downright silly.

So, based on her feedback, if you are looking for a standardized droid for musicians to factory run for stocking your vendor she recommends either: 1 10-item storage, 1 med use 110, 4 playback modules or 1 10-item storage and 5 playback modules. Let the effects stay in their own droid (and again, have at a minimum a 10-item storage in there with the effects).

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Can a musician use more than 4 playback modules?
When does it become too many playback modules?

My droid has five playback modules and I wish I had a few more honestly.

How the modules work may give an idea of how many we can use.

Each module can hold a song/instrument combination. It can be re-recorded, however the musician must stop, start the droid recording then play the new instrument song to do so. It cannot be done on the fly. So with 6 modules you can hold one instrument on 6 different songs. Oh and we have 5 unique instrument sounds and 10 songs total (though using the duplicated instruments with targeted bandflos you could use all 10 instruments).

I myself have 2 droids atm and am looking to get a 3rd. My 2 are both advanced R3s. One is all 6 Fx, the other is 5 Fx (minus Electric fog) and one playback. The new one I'm looking at will be 6 playback mods.

Hope this helps.

For me I see the playback module as backup. it will only be used if I feel the group/band is too small and iwould like toput an extra instrument (bandfil most likely) into the band. Right now I have a SFX droid with all 6 effects installed, and its great. People love it, and I receive a lot of questions about them. Luckily I have an MDE on Lowca so I can answer most of them. I personaly perfer specialists, so that would be one with sfx andone with playbackmodules. Several musicians I talked to seem to prefera min of two playback modules and 4 SFX.

I have listed some reactions on SFX in order of how well people love them:

Foam

Jawa

Avian

Mind

Electri fog

Confetti

Of course this doesnt mean anything ona person to person basis, but might give some ideas onwhat SFX people most likely are to ask for.

On TC, I have a droid with 5 effects and one playback module. I just re-record when I switch tunes, which is a pain, but I love those effects!

On Live, I have two droids on my main Musician, and an effects droid on my alt. The Musician's droids are: (1) 5 effects, 1 sound; (2) 5 sounds, 1 effect.

My ideal entertainer droid must have 10 item storage,a playback module, be able to speak sarcstically, have an barker module (hey boss! you do best musician I ever seen!). I would also like to get foam/avian/dancingjawa effects modules. Also want it to be humanoid shaped and have high HAM (those playbacks using /bandflourish can wear a droid out) Unfortunatly, I think the only droids with 6 modules spaces are the R3s, though I could definitely be wrong on this
