This is the place to voice your opinion that the 400,000 xp requirement for the new song be kept in the Quest.

Thank you for sharing your opinions on this matter.

Im a bit biased on this topic, but mostly in favor of keeping the 400k xp cost on the new song.

Either that, or making the skillrequirements higher !

I dont even want to consider the complaint regarding xp vs. FS...........You have a choice..........spend the xp on the fs conversion or spend it to get the new song.

When you advance through the musician skilltree you get new songs or effects all the time.

When your master you dont get anything new anymore, so leave the 400k xp requirement so you can only use the song at master, or remove it and set to songrequirement to master without the need to pay with xp.

Sure!

I'm glad we're getting quests with nifty new things that have a variety of quest requirements. The xp cost is actually nice to have because its free-form and I can get it wherever rather then just have to do specific tasts all the time!

So to any members of development or content team or representative or correspondant - I'm a happy camper! I'm having a great time in game being both dancer/musician

The secret of happiness is having fun with that you have - not being miserable about what you don't have!

I am all for the XP requirement. I take it the original poster would prefer it were given away. I can't think of any MMORPG that works that way.

Also, I have already forwarded your concerns to the devs about this. As has Panthu. I see no need to start three or more threads on the same topic.

Edit: To consolidate voting on this issue, I've started a new sticki'ed poll in this forum. It's easier for me to link the devs to one thread than to three, and they're more likely to read one than three. Please go there and register your view, even if you've already posted in one of these threads. I'll report the results to the devs and, as I always do, I'll tell them to weigh your views more heavily than mine. In fact, I've already told them that a majority of Musicians would probably like to see the XP requirement lessened, that my own view is that it might be a bit steep but shouldn't be abolished altogether, and that I always take the position that the devs should listen to the majority of the players.

Sorry.

The subject was tossed around, but all i kept hearing were vague remarks about how many people still wanted the xp requirement, but some didn't - so I thought I'd try to straighten who exactly did or didn't want the xp requirement.

I won't waste anyone's time with more posts.

I thought I was helping.

Nor can I, NewJedi.

I'm also not getting through to you.

It's NOT being given away, OKAY?

There's a QUEST. We complete the QUEST. QUEST = complete. Complete QUEST = reward. WIll you please explain to me how this equates "giving the award away?" You seem nothing but insistent that by removing the xp penalty, the reward is given away.

There's a quest.

Please, understand this.

Is completing the Death Watch bunker, then getting a Mandalorian helmet "giving it away?"

Is completing Nym's Stronghold themepark and getting the Nym's Slug Thrower "giving it away?"

Is completing Jabba's Themepark and getting schematics "giving them away?"

Please tell me what other profession pays xp to get new content. Still don't have an answer for that.

The exp requirement has my support.

It is about time that some of the players understand that FS is just one part of this game and that not everyone is interested in it. I am a musician not a FS wannabe.

All players have the OPTION to do this quest - nothing is forcing a FS player to spend experience points.

I am quite frankly sick and tired of FS or Jedi players acting as if they are the only important people in this game and expecting things to be changed to make things better for them.

Just because this is the way that things have been done in the past does not mean it is the way things will always be done.

I for one would be glad to be the Profession that is the first to take up an new set of "near-to-end-game content." if that term is appropriate.

Someone has to go first.

Sorry, NJ.

I don't mean to be starting anything with you over this.

I think it best if I just went away for now.

Didn't mean to be rude.

Hehe, as usual, LeBob put it better than me.Yes, I foreseethat for every profession,near-end-of-game-content will include new XP requirements. In fact, that's already the engame for Jedi. You're constantly fighting for XP to maintain your standing in the Enclave. And it's the endgame in other games, like EQ with its AA points and WoW, eventually, with its hero classes.

That's what I've been *hoping* for for Musician. Personally, I'd like a Grandmaster Musician profession that requiressignificant amountsof XP for each new song as it comes down the pike. If I can't have that, then I want the songs to cost XP all the same, or at least require a LOT of effort -- several days at a theme park, like the Rebel Theme Park. Not just a three-mission theme park like Nym's, or a relatively easy one like Jabba's. I prefer a challenge; it makes the reward sweeter.

Warryyr, relax dude, I'm happy to have your input. We agree on the big issues facing Musicians, and on the fact that we Musicians don't get a fraction of the dev time or resources we deserve. We need people pushing me in the more "aggressive" direction -- but bear in mind that we also have people pushing me in the other direction. (I got criticism for my "hire a new dev" posts a while back; some people thought that was over the line.)You and I happen to disagree on this particular issue, but hey, I'm always on this side of the fence in MMORPG arguments. (I'm in the World of Warcraft beta, and I think leveling there is waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast.) I value everyone's input, so long as it's constructive.

But seriously, I don't see the quests for this song as anything more than a minimal cost. They'll take me 90 minutes or so on Live, I predict. Once spoiler sites are up, some people will do them in probably 40 minutes: head to Coronet's theater, then to the starport or cantina. It took me a week of playing to go from Jazz to Virtuoso, and I prefer this song to Virtuoso. I think people should have to expend far more effort than an hour or so to get class-defining content like a new song.
