Has anyone tried this template? If so how is it working out? I'm assuming you'd probably need at least novice pistoleer to complement it. It seems to work pretty easily from a RP point of view and Smuggler would provide additional social interactions as people could buy slices and spice from you while you entertain in the cantina. The Dirty Fighting tactics all seem like things Musicans should have to resort to if they fight too. I mean, when was the last time you saw a musicain that could wield a Pike or broadsword? Let me know what you guys think?

I have never been a smuggler so I can't comment from a template point of view. From an RP point of view what better way to cover your travels and explain your presence than as a traveling band? I like the RP potential.

a friend of mine on Bria has been working on that template..
It is great for RP as musician does exactly that, give a cover for your other "activities".
So far as playability, he biggest gripe has been that she can not mindbuff herself.
She's not a PvPer.. but enjoys PVE quite a lot.

I have not tried out the template myself, but it is something I had kicked around. Master Musician / Master Smuggler / Pistoleer 0,0,4,0
Would be a decent template I suppose. However, I have a Master Commando / Master Smuggler on shadowfire and I can tell you that in PvP he bites. PvE he rocks, but he would now wouldn't he? 
I personally am dependant on at least novice medic, so just about any template I make has medic in it.
If you do not take at least novice pistoleer ( for the DX2 and some slight mods ) then you have really bad accuracy in PvP and even barring PvP, you have no real good damage dealing shots.
Anyhow, thats just some info tossed out there for ya.
I think it would be great for RP and even PvE once you can get Lowblow, as there is nothing funnier to me than seeing a big critter flop over even at long range

There was a point where I wanted to be a Musician/Smuggler. So I could say "Dude...I'm with the band" among other things. 
I love my two handed curved sword, though. Lots.

When I bought SWG with the inent of being an Entertainer this was my original idea. I loved the idea of the undercover smuggler/spy reporting on Rebel activity for the Empire. Had sumuggling lended itself to this I would have done it.

Smuggler is a good way to have a steady income on most servers. It is fun as hell to role play. Though it will add to the idiots you'll have to deal with lol.
