I want to become a Musican so I can buff focus and willpower, but I am also Master Artisan, Merchant, and Tailor. I want to do the buffing butONLY when our guild is doing something that requires a group buff. I am not an AFKer so it's hard to grind what i need and this is going to take me forever at my current rate. Basically my question is this...... I want to do focus and willpower buffs. What do i need to progress in to be the most effective? I know I won't hit Master because I can't give up my other profs. What do you suggest on Entertainer and also on Musician?

Buffing ability comes from the first column of musician. You can start buffing at novice musician and it gets stronger as you go up that 1st column. To use the least points and be the most affective you want 4/0/0/0 musician. It will limit your song selection but if all you are doing is buffing it won't affect you.

You might also see about encouraging and recruiting musicians to yourgroup.Attracting musicians meansyou can do the things you like while engaging someone who enjoys musician.

If I calculated correctly, I don't think you'll be able to buff if you keep your current template. You have to go up musician and entertainer healing in the entertainer tree before you can even hit novice musician, and I don't think you have enough points for that. However, if you're planning to give up something in order to do this, but not make Master Musician, then go up to Music Techniques IV. At that level you will be able to perform a 75% buff. None of the other lines (except getting master) will do anything to improve your buffing. But, of course, depending on how many skill points you have left over if you drop one of your other masteries, then after you've gone up Techniques, I always advocating going up knowledge just because it's cool to have more songs and instruments at your disposal.

You will likely need to surrender 16 points of your current template to do this.

You will want to pick up novice entertainer, the two lines under novice musician, then the "techniques" line of musician.

This will result in you being capable of giving a 75% buff that can last two hours. Each flourish you do will add one minute to the total time of the buff you deliver, so flourishing constantly you would end up with about four minutes of time required to deliver the buffs.

If you can aquire attachments, you possibly could extend to 100% (same as master) the buff you deliver. As a tailor, you should know there are no BE clothes you can make for enhancing enhancments or batte fatigue (all loot) but you can make clothes to improve your ability to heal mind wounds.

This method will likely drain your action very fast, so you may want to shift your stats to action, talk to your guild chefs or doctors about providing you with supplies to keep your stats up, or just work out a slower routine to buff.

Notice, you aren't taking much in the way of healing lines, so you might want to invest in resources to grind up musician experience the same way you ground up tailor--by making things, rather than playing. Since you are a crafter you may find that more enjoyable than trying to perform in cantinas and certianly is an option if you have the ability to get resources. You can't get healing experience that way, but you won't need it for what you are trying to do.

Also, even if you free up the points to get to 4/0/0/0 Musician, that will only give you a buff that increases stats by 75%. The Master buff increases stats by 100% (i.e., doubles them). (Er, right, gang? I've always buffed as a Master.)

75% is still mighty nice, but I thought you should know. The relevant skill is Musical Mind Enhancement.

I could be mistaken here but isn't the Dancer's Leotard I have been making as tailor suppost to help with buffing? I am of course talking about the looted schematic from Jabba's. I thought I saw that it helped in buffing stats by +5 or something. I am at work and havn't double checked yet though.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I have a better understanding of what I need to do now. I did the math last night and found that I am only like 2 skill points short of what I want to do, which really sucks that I will have to give up 2 boxes of something to get 2 skill points. Oh well, who needs master merchant anyway.

Yes, the Exquisite Dancer's Leotard you get from the Jabba park gives a +5 to Dance Mind Enchancement.

Now, if we could only get something along those lines for guys/musicians...

Yeah, I was about to say that Master Merchant and the Hiring line, while nice for dressing up your vendors, are kinda fluff. You could ditch those....

And yeah, the Exquisite Leotard is for female dancers only. There is no equivalent for Musicians, and male dancers can't wear the leotard, either.
