Just curious what you guys think about this. What do you guys think is the most logical profession to compliment a MM from a roleplaying perspective?

Oooohhh.........that's tough.
I'd say maybe something from the marksman tree. After all, you make a living with those hands and mouth.

musician/smuggler is a excellent RP cover. I was able to run my smuggling business from my cantina, and it worked out very well.

of course, the empire would never suspect that there is spice sales at my cantina...

I"ve thought Smuggler was a good choice before also. It even has some gameplay benefits that i can see since a musician could barter the smuggler and musician services at the same time. The rogue fighting skills seem really appropriate for a musician too. It's just my opinion but i don't think a mellee profession is ever appropriate for a musician from a RP perspective, it doesn't make sense that a musican would be strong enough to inflict damage with mellee weapons, musician's are usually more delicate people.

Well many musicians aren't delicate but I do agree they aren't going to risk their hands by hitting a big creature or pile of rocks with them.
From an RP point of view its a tough call. From a game point of view I like my master rifleman, novice scout, master ent, master musician template. I can wander the planets hunting and harvesting for profit and drop into the local casino for refreshments and to play a ballad or two.

You would not believe how much spice you can fit in a nalgaron... it was practically built for smuggling. Just remember to remove the spice from you instruments before playing, or you will be blowing alot of credits away.
I've heard commando really adds to you pyrotechnic effects capibilities. And you can play the "1812 Overture" with a rocket launcher.
Artisan is always nice. Fireworks and creature habitats can add to your show. And if you proceed on, every entertainer I know loves accargam and if you mention free or (cheap) clothes in a 500m proximity of a cantina... you will get stampeded.
You can always go Politician... being "full of hot air" really helps hit those high notes on the slitherhorn.
That's all I can think of for now... will come up with some more later.

My Musician is taking up a second career as a dancer for the ladies. Pretty fun so far! But my longer-term plans are to make my Musician mayor of my player-city, an honor currently enjoyed by my alt.

Heh, my suggestions?
- Dancer - pretty obvious
- Smuggler - reasons have already been stated above.
- TKA - so you can beat people up with your mandovial

Whatever is best is whatever fits best with the kind of RP you want to do. If your looking to be some sort of covert spy marksman or pistoleer would probably be a good choice, you can carry a pistol that would be an appropriate weapon for such a person.

Pistoleer sounds as a good choice, as pistols seams less soldier like. And that pistol use from the action ham is a bonus, it means you do not have to compromise you stat migration.
But from a purely RP point of view, the best profession to choose is what ever your character would choose with the personality and background history it has. The law-abiding, pacifist, loyal imperial citizen would not become a smuggler. And the rebellious, danger loving, larger the life, rock musician would not become a politician.
