Well it had to be a rhetorical question when I post it here. The chance that a dev post in here are astronomical. Chime in if you wand to flame me if you wand to, I just wanted to get this out.
The one question that I would like a dev to answer me is this. As a player that do not enjoy combat for it own right, and have no interest in the "resource game" that come with crafting, what reason can you give for me to keep playing the game?
Anyway that is all I wanted to say. I will go back to running recon mission to keep my house up, and to playing with my friends (who are the only reason that I have stayed as long as I have)

Good question.
I've always played a support character. It's what I do, and I'm good at it. Usually that means medic/cleric/doc/combat engineer. When I found out this game was going to include Musicians, I figured it was right up my alley, since I'm a RL musician.
Every now and then, I get an urge for some combat, and that's what alts are for (seporate servers, since I can't stand 'twinks'). However, it's not my preferred gameplay. I'd much rather support the main fighters, who enjoy the battle. When you get folks doing what they love, it's a win/win situation.
I'm not a buff machine (what docs have been reduced to), and I don't care for the resource grind, the mindless crafting, and the inevitable critical failure as a master, even when using the best resources and equipment. Too much Sci-Fi, not enough campy space drama. Imagine if Frank Herbert or L.Ron Hubbard wrote Star Wars, in stead of George Lucas.
The game is very unbalanced right now, catering to the fighters. I can't wait for the combat rebalance (pronounced NERF). Hopefully, it'll bring things back into balance, eliminating 'god mode', and raising the importance of the other support players.

Make your own game, your own fun. Once you fill your little boxes, what you do is entirely up to you, not the Devs. I put a little mental effort into my playtime as an Entertainer and my problem is often having too much to do, not too little. You're in a Social profession, so the people you meet and know are meant to drive you.

True to a point in any game bunny. However we pay for a service that promises new content. We need that new content at times to give us new things to do and reinvigorate the game. I can and do make my own entertainment but I can do that at a friend's house without paying SOE any money. The fee I pay is for more than just the existing static content that never changes.
