For the next publish, non-combat professions will become eligible for respec!

Also of note, the tree cantina in Kashyyyk will now function as a normal cantina.

Of possible concern, it's stated that messages about xp granted will appear in the "general chat channel." We'll see what this means exactly and if we can avoid it if we want to.

Yes, I agree. I already have a combat profession and I don't like crafting. I loved the Musician profession and needed a medic so I created this account. Id perfer they make us useful. I will cancel this account if respecing is the only option we have. I already pay for one combat prof, I dont flipping need another!

A non-combat respec is not being offered as a "fix" for Musicians; it's being offered because the non-combat professions have changed dramatically with the combat upgrade, and some players will want to partake of the opportunity to play something else in the widely changed game.

I of course want more for us, but let's not knock good news just because it's not the specific news we want to hear yet, ok? I know I'm quite aware of people's feelings about the profession in general, and I of course let the devs know that most are feeling that we don't have enough right now; the devs have themselves stated that our inspiration buffs aren't all they have in mind for us, so they're aware of this too.

Yes, this is excellent news... but in no way should it be viewed as an answer nor the end of our beloved non-combat professions.

It is only fair that they allowed this respec.
I only hope that they do not do something horribly offensive and make the entertainer respec points any lesser than combat respec points are worth.

Any clue on that, Aleyo?

Should be an even one for one... Novice Ent to Novice Combat and Elite Ent to Elite Combat.

Thanks for all your efforts and I believe we'll get these professions moving in the right direction!

If you enjoy the Musician Profession, don't give it up hastily... just because you can.

I've long struggled with my love for this Profession and I know what I must do to enjoy myself, but I'd stress that everyone should really know what they want to do before they make any permanent changes.

I'm starting to believe, for the first time in ages, that the Entertainers will have thier day.

The "AFK gone in May" comment and the future plan for an Entertainer Revamp makes me think they won't actually give up on the brilliantly unique idea of having these original professions exist in this game.

Any musician worth thier salt knows you have to make it through the hard times...

May the force be with you.

I haven't heard exactly how it's supposed to work, but I guess we'll find out firsthand soon enough.
My own personal guess, based merely on the idea that "enable these trees" seems easier to do than "enable these trees but give them different rules," would be that they count the same. Just a guess though.

That's good thinking... I'd have to agree with that.

As you said though, we'll see soon enough.

I have no patience I dropped all of TK the second night of the CU and started working on mastering dance, so now I don't have the points to respec myself and will have to work up dancer the long way. Ah well, its more fun learning as you go anyway.

I just went in-game briefly to check it out, and it appears that non-combat professions count just as other professions do for the respec. In fact, as a 250 pt entertainer, I ran out of skill points trying to build up combat masteries (TKA/Smuggler/Pistoleer, which share many pre-reqs) before I came close to running out of respec points.

In addition, I've confirmed that you can respec *to* non-combat professions if you wish, not just to combat professions, as some were worrying.

This may sound mean, but newly earned ID boxes need to count less in the respec process (I know its not part of this forum, I just wanted to drop my pennies and shut up). Anyone could grind Master ID in acouple hours, then respec to a powerful combat prof, and repeat until skill points are used up.
