Been noticing a few things post-CU, looking for some clarification.
Are players not going to the cantinas as much? I myself am TKM/MCH, meditate my wounds away, noticed today that I hadn't been to a cantina in a few days...wheres my stack of BatFat? After 2 days of hunting, getting the warrens badges, taming pets (which includes a lot of killing all the adults then taming the youngin atm with maskscent breaking nonstop)...and i had 18 fatigue.
So, my questions.
1. Are people coming into the cantinas less post-CU? (I find myself accruing less batfat than before)
2.Has anyone looked into the viability of "linking" groupleaders (of entertainers)...to form larger bands? The coding exists in the SOE game planetside (10 man squads...any squadleader can invite another squadleader to "platoon" up...ending up with 3 squads of maximum 10 ppl). This would enable the large entertainer groups again, without going around their intended group size for hunting groups.
3. What can non entertainers do to make this trying period better for you? I've been rainin cash on the newb entertainers I find, but seeing eisley cantina with 3 entertainers (1 afk :grumble
suucks. (as an aside, i refuse to watch an afk entertainer unless there are NO at-keyboard entertainers (and i'll travel to a different planet to look first)... I've always had a grudge against afk exp grinders, it should be removed from all games)
Alright, thats all I've come up with myself. I can't speak for everyone, but I'd think that SWG players on the whole will be less than satisfied in a world of few entertainers.

To answer you from my POV...
1) There is a GREATLY reduced use of cantinas, both in terms of patron and entertainers. However I've seen that the percentages of AFK are still about the same. Also in some cantinas you won't see any masters at all. Luckily I can find many hanging out in Theed on Chilastra.
2) We HOPE they are doing something about it. The group size issue was brought up the INSTANT it was revealed. Unfortunately, that was not until it hit on TC. It seems as though the devs had not realized the way the group size change affected entertainers. It is 3 factors actually that are destroyed by the group size restriction. A) XP is greatly reduced with smaller groups. Music XP for a group of 8 is at least 30% lower than a 20 person group. Healing XP (which has already been emasculated by the CU) will now be spread over many groups as well as "listener" bonuses....which as #1 revealed are few and far between. B) Musical groups can no longer have a full complement of instruments. Yes they can have a full complement of instrument sounds (as there are only 5 unique sounds), however, we have been asking for the 10 instruments to have separate sounds since launch...and that's not even talking about NEW instruments....which we have also been begging for. C) Large group synchronization is pretty much dead. This is more of a factor for dance, but also does affect music as described in "B" above. What is disheartening is that they had thought about it enough to provide a method for more than 8 to launch to a ship...and they listed that as a fix for people "partying" on ships, but apparently people don't want to party with entertainers. The other thing is that though they admitted that they will look into it, they gave the old line of "but it is not within the scope of the CU", and gave no timeline for this at all. We hope it'll get fixed soon.
3) As to helping us.....bring us your BF, come to us for inspires, keep supporting ATK. All the same stuff we wanted before the CU, just keep it up and thanks for the support.

I keep trying to come up with "fixes"...keep coming back to one...
Since batfat only really applied to getting buffed before.. (as far as i know) Use the batfat system as the workaround. Increase the amt of batfat accrued by hunters atm. This could replace the wound healing exp that ya'll aren't getting anymore. Since buffs used to "have" to happen every 3 hrs, lets try to get players needing to hit a cantina in the 3-4 hour mark...if they've been huntin hardcore for the duration, accrued a couple deaths, whatever. They'd have to set some coding to disallow specials when batfat reaches a certain figure, for instance.
I can see a couple issues with Jedi being forced to be "waiting to get jumped", etc though....
I'd like to see a cantina or two end up as no-combat, with multiple viewing areas, or small stages added in. At least then there'd always be designated places to perform for the masses.
Thanks again for the excellent response.

and sincerely thanks for using punctuation... a) b) c) so much easier to read than the run-on's that are plagueing the boards lately

Sorry to reply spam, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to edit posts on these boards. if theres a way someone tell me!
re: batfat idea.... Could perhaps have the dmg of your highest 2-3 attacks be halved, or quartered until you get your batfat under control. Wouldn't want to completely disallow specials though, as it'd cause people to die unreasonably.

Both myself and other Entertainerspleaded endlessly for Battle Fatigue accrual to be dramatically increased before the CU went Live. They didn't fix it at all.
I've gotten a grand total of 2 Battle Fatigue, after a few days of fighting. I have no idea what's going on with it.
But yes, cantinas are dead now.
*sigh*

The term batfat makes me uncomfortable.
I prefer just plain BF.
Kashyyyk especially has the problems with lacking BF accrual. Dying in several of the instanced zones causes no wounds, decay, or BF.
Space deaths seem to be the most efficient way to become fatigued, so if you would like to help out, repeated space suicides seem to be the best way. Kudos for the help and consideration!

Another way that used to accrue a LOT of fatigue before the Galaxies went to Hell in a handbasket was to have an artisan sample radioactives while listening to you. Only works if you can finda semi-decent radioactive spawn near a cantina/hotel/theater/player structure, though.

First thanks for asking and thanks for caring. Yes fewer people go in the cantinas and fewer entertainers hang out in them. Corbantis used to use Theed as the ATK location and was often packed, now its 8 or 9 people and they are mostly AFK. I can't even understand why people are leveling entertainer now the grind is so slow. I dropped all my combat skills to level dancer and make one toon all entertainer since the CU combat is even more predictable and boring to me than the old system. Then they give us a respec grrrr. Well at least I had 7 of the 8 healing boxes trained in stored up healing and could respec the last healing box, whew.
