Thread: Request Performance
Add a new command for both Dancers and Musicians. /Takerequests. Now what I think this skills should do would be to allow other characters to target the entertainer and request a performance. But in their request be asked how much they offer for the show. Once they input their amount a window pops up for the entertainer to decide if they are being offered enough for their services.
This new command could be toggled on and off. That way people couldn't just spam you to ruin your gameplay. But if you wanted extra credits you could take requests and make more money. You could also increase the ability as you gain knowlege up to master to buff more than one person at a time. Say 1 additional person per level to a total of 5.
You could even take it farther and use the command to request specific songs from the customers. Through a drop down menu based on the entertainer's skill.
Just a thought.
PS. Entertainer BUFFS need some form of ingame timer.
Interesting idea. How would you propose that bands handle such requests? Payment be divided among bandmembers evenly? Also, what if two bandmembers get conflicting requests at the same time?
I agree about the buff timer. In general, our buff needs a much more user-friendly interface. In the interim, I've taken to turning on the "timestamp" feature to time the buff. (CTL O, Chat, "Turn Timestamp On.") It spits out the time in hh:mm:ss format, so it's pretty handy. I suppose another option would be the alarm, but I never seem to hear the alarm over my melodious playing. ![]()
So I have yet to fail to give a buff since I make it a habit of educating anyone who asks for it and when times up I tell them to stop listening
Yes this idea is actually a very good one, but it would be hard to implement, I personally can't see how it could be done unless when you are in a group of people, the requests are by default, sent to the group leader. But even then you may have multiple requests and you know our customers, they want it NOW, not in 15 minutes when you can play thier favorite song...hehe.
Happy Holidays all!

/takerequest is a great idea!
If this is feasible, I think the audience will understand a short delay between requests. After all, one song has to end before the next begins and I think the current audience has been trained into a "3 minute or shorter" song motif. Which will be more than adequate for our needs.
now all we need is a jar for the nalargon and we entertainers will be all set
