Iwould like to see this come into the game. Color changes, apearance changesof each instrument. (kind of how certain weapons can be made with custom barrels)

Nope. The only "customization" possible is the name, but that's it (and that's something you can do with any player-crafted item).

Instrument quality also has no effect whatsoever - musiciansget an Instrument Assembly skill-mod, but that's completely pointless.

Yeah, changing the color of the instruments or the appearance would be totally sweet. I really hope we have that ability sometime. Musicians need to be able to express themselves with their instruments, just like in real life.

As for the instrument assembly mod, I think all that does is give you less of a chance to critical fail on the creation of the item - just like most other assembly mods work for crafting professions.

Didn't they remove all criticals?

So they're kinda COMPLETELY pointless now.

Hey, we all goofed... I don't think that made it on our list this time around...
Did it?

Anyhoo... yeah, instrument color customization would be pretty nice

I wouldn't mind my nalargon being Purple and Silver.

Heh... I suggested color customization for instruments several months ago. Not sure if I was the first to do it though, but I did make the suggestion... and everyone who posted in that thread seemed to like the idea.

I survived the CU

They didn't remove critical failures, they removed the way that critical failures made you lose subcomponents. Now you just lose the resources.

This way, there's no worries for a critical failure on an AV-21 assembly, since the rare powerplant won't get destroyed. You'll just be out some ferrous and non-ferrous metal and you'll still have the powerplant.

ok...well...I'll look back a bit.

I thought that change was done months ago. I'm referring to a change in the last 2 weeks. Well lemme dig a bit.

yep....here it is....

Crafting

  • There are no longer critical fails on crafting (which would previously destroy componets involved)

This was some point in March before the 3/9 update
