Thread: Nice Tiny Mention in Dev Chat...

Okay, it's one of those absolutely nothing comments, but the concept really does go right along with what so many of us have always wanted to see...
So here's a quote from the Dev Chat tonight...
"Brannoc: *Speedfire[kauri]* I Worry about the future of Artists. Mission terminals and only one quest aren't enough. Will other contents be added in the game for these players? Thank you
SraySOE: One of the things we are wanting to do with questing is to provide different roles for different professions within the quest itself.
SraySOE: So, the mix of professions you have in your group provide different solutions for what is going on
SraySOE: For instance, you are faced with a locked door, if you have a Smuggler, might be able to slice it, if you have a commando, she might be able to blast it down and if you have an entertainer, she might be able to charm the key from a guard"
They're not saying they've implimented anything, they're not saying they will ever actually do anything like this...
BUT they did mention us and in a cool way, like many of us had always hoped for.
Just nice to see, in my opinion.
I know guards on post often trade me a few keys for an autograph or two.
It's about time they start coding it in for the rest of you all!

I really hope they go in that direction with quests. In single player games I love it when there are multiple ways to complete goals.

Yes, i think nothing will change for us. They'll just add new musics and dances and that's all on the TC. I hope to see missions for us, quests with contracts in a specific structure for a 4-musicians band for instance etc... If you're a Master musician, even after the coming patch, you will have nothing to do.
I really hope this profession to be improved.

The line could easily be replaced by "He" instead of "She", just like the commando line.
I'm not ashamed to admit... as a male, I've charmed a lot of things from other people.

I think about something these afternoon, there's a lot of things that can be done to improve musician profession -dancer too-
- Overall Quality on an instrument can modify healing&buff when a musician uses it
- Amaster musician can have 10 music points that can be spent on new songs.The musician canget these songs while a quest but (s)he won't be able to get all songs (10 points - 5 pts for 'X' songs,5pts for 'Y' song, 3 pts for another songs for instance). Once you want to surrend one of these songs you have to complete the quest again
- Decay on instruments (can improve instrument business)
- Light effects & droid effects can modify healing and buff
- Quests where musicians will be useful
What do you think about that?

i think the devs have to give a rats ..... first ... this is why i've stoped posting "idea" threads... they are pointless. We cant get a dev in here at all let alone remotly consider ideas.

Don't worry, as Musician Dev Pro Tempore, I'll ensure such a foolish slip up never occurs again.
Devs are not to mention Entertainers.
I'll have to send Sray that memo again. I think Thunderheart forgot to put the cover sheet on his TPS report again.
