I'm sorry....for not participating in a lot of your rallies to better our profession. I know I will be flamed left and right for this post and at this point it's not a concern. Our profession is lacking quite a bit...and the lack of enthusiasm by our correspondants is really beginning to disturb me. We get new songs and what do you we get ...A clicky and nothing else. I'm not saying we need a cheerleader but some positive feedback is needed. I've seen everything from posts about making us like bards to taking away our points because we won't be "useful". I know a lot of our usefulness is up in the air with the CURB and I'm just as concerned. Battle fatigue should mean something...accuracy...terrian speed...ANYthing. Maybe all of this will be taken up in the Entertainer Revamp after RotW. Does this mean that we're going to suffer while all of that is being done. I fear yes. But I love what I do even now so I won't be effected. I guess what I'm really trying to say here is that I'd like to see our correspondants actually taking an interest and give us ANY feedback they can. Even if it's "I really don't know right now". I'm only hoping that behind the scenes they aren't as blase'.

There have been so many good ideas posted on how to give us more interactions. Panthu's "crafting dancing shoes" for temporary dance lessons for patrons. Maybe letting Musicians craft jukeboxes that help reduce whatever we'll be reducing out in the field...or mabye a droid that lets us reduce BF in camps...what happened to all of these ideas? where they shelved??

AAAIIIIEEE!!! Don't come after the corrs! *throws body in front of baby Ent Corrs*

You don't know what these guys went through, really. Come on, you know they were being talked to a lot... it was public... then nothing. Now they are stuck under some new weird NDA thing that first got landed on Corrs during the Summit planning.

Stuff went down, I don't think these guys even know what they are allowed to ask for in the corr forum or say out in these forums right now. The best thing we can do as a community is just try to get out there in those Dev threads.

I don't really know where we or the corrs stand right now, I just know it looks like we are going to have to do this in the Dev threads and just let the people in the Ent Corr positions struggle through this phase with the cards they are being dealt. It is an extremely frustrating position they are in and I am frankly glad to not be in it at this time myself. I think that says something if you know me any, lol.

I am posting a thread, which should be in close proximity to this one. Please, check it out. I am trying to help all players, particularly non-combatants, to enjoy this game along with their profession. I have gone through every profession but 4 trying to find what I wanted, and I did, but I lost track of that and focused on what I thought was necessary. I am dropping Medic to take Artisan, and I will be dropping some of Teras Kasi to take up Musicianship if the time calls for it. I have mastered the grind, so I will not regret the changes.

Please, take the time to look over my thread, and let me know what should be done. If we cannot enjoy the game without Devs changing the game, then let us make our own enjoyment. Life's too short to regret it, and effort is just as precious.

Don't feel like you have to apologize for anything. I've been sitting on the sidelines myself (most of the time), waiting and watching. Even with the lack of information given to us by the Devs, my first reaction was to launch a massive napalm strike against the CU and burnit down. But seeing how it was just a taste of what the are plotting..Imean planning, there really isn't much we can do now to stop the deluge of the CU from going live. There are many things we still don't know and hopefully these issues will get addressed in future posts. Truth is, flaming and fighting the Devs over the vagueness of their plans isn't going to accomplish much.

I have two toons on two servers that are getting hit hard by the CU: my pikeman/doctor and my entertainer/pistoleer. Neither of them are buffbots or alts, I have a single account, and both have had a lot of work poured into each one. Am I worried about the CU destorying what I have worked for? Yes and no. I'm a field doctor, I go on group hunts to tank and heal myself and others as needed. I'm worried I may not be able to heal others after the CU, but I'm confident that Iwill still heal myself better and faster than someone without any medical training. My entertianer is just that, an entertainer. I entertain and try to have fun. I don't buff and I haven't bothered investing any SP in Dancer or Musician healing. What I am most worried about is losing any purpose to RP in cantinas (a great source for information on lots of things) because no one will ever come to a cantina.

I think the biggest thing we entertainers are worried about is losing any connection to the game and becoming nothing more than chatroom avatars. While this is a valid concern, we have very little and sketchy information about the CU at this point in time. Every thread I've read about making content for us and giving us a role in the game has been intriguing, interesting, and informative. It really makes me proud to be part of the entertainer communities, even if I am sitting on the sidelines right now. I will still fight for things like removing AFK play and fixing our beyond pathetic "missions", and I will fight to the death for those fixes. When more information on the CU is made available to us, I will join the fight along side the rest of the entertainer community.

I don't think Scip was ever a baby Ent Corr. Like Pallas Athene, he sprang full-grown from the head of a um, giant Ortolan or something.

Okay, so I've eaten way too many Marshmallow Peeps today and I'm on a crazy sugar high...

Seriously, the corrs are doing their best for us. It's not their fault the Devs won't listen.

Just because our Corrs can't share what they have seen or heard doesn't mean we have to sit around and wait for them to be able to though! There is no reason for us to sit by as a community and wait for word on the things that we want. Other communities (crafters, fighters) don't just go through their Prof reps to get to the Devs, they go straight to the Dev threads and we should to!

I cheer Nosmina wanting to rally! Go girl, go! This is how I think we need to be doing this though. The corrs will continue to do the best they can, but this community has been building up feedback for corrs long enough, we need to get it straight to the Devs. I said this even when I was an Ent Corr, but given recent developments I now believe it more than ever.

I'm not really even wanting rallies..I just guess I want more feedback. Even if it's "I have nothing to report". Anything. Lack of communication makes people nervous.

Hey Nosmina,

I've always been a huge proponent of lots of communication (I think my #1 issue on one top 5 poll was the lack of communication from the devs at the time), so I definitely understand where you're coming from, and apologize if my presence hasn't been felt here enough in the form of feedback.
To put things straightforwardly, I don't actually have anything to report of late. I have of course been posting about our issues in the corr forums for the devs to see what's going on with our profession. However, I haven't gotten anything that I can report back to ya'll in general. We are all confused (all ent corrs, etc.) still as to what is going to happen with entertainers when the Combat Upgrade hits, and you better believe all of us have been asking and asking (as well as the CU testers, as you know). That's pretty much the feedback I have to share. As you can see, it's not exciting, which I guess has lended itself to my not saying much, but you're right in that it's a better thing for me to say that there's nothing for me to report than to not report at all.

Anyways, since we've yet to hear a clear answer of "this is what you'll get since mind wounds are going away in the CU" or "mind wounds will go away, and we won't touch the entertainer skill trees at all," I do think it's important that we as players go and provide our feedback to the devs now that much more CU information has gone public - in particular, that entertainers don't want to be forgotten and left broken when the Combat Upgrade goes live. I've been doing what I can in the corr forum, and I know the CU team has been doing so as well in the CU forums, so it's time for us as a whole to make it known that we at least want some indication of what's going to happen. Please, don't go to the CU threads and flame, be constructive and calmly but firmly make your points known - and don't don't don't even pay attention if someone flames you for asking about your profession; if you get caught in a flamewar, it doesn't help things, but if you've logically said your piece and get flamed for it, you'll come out looking better.

Hiya Nosmina, long time no see /tackle

Well, now the social pleasantries are done, I'd just like to make one little comment. It's my estimation that the lack of communication starts several rungs above the Correspondents, and we shouldn't really expect them to climb down off the battlements every day and say "no nothing new today"

Originally, the Correspondent program was meant to be a 2 way street, and admittedly it was 4 lanes going one way and only one lane coming back, but that's not unreasonable. Now, I think that last lane got taken over, and we have about 4 feet wide stretch of gravel coming back, on a good day. Ok stupid analogy, but it gets the point across. Our correspondents are out there (even the former ones), I've had the pleasure of talking to more and more of them as time goes on, and they do everything they can to be on top of the important stuff.

I kinda think it would be more demoralizing for me and them to see No Progress reports every day or week, but that's just my opinion. I respect everyone's desire to know more, but we gotta face up that the people who know aren't going to spill the beans, and that's sad, but not the fault of our brave volunteer correspondents.

Thank you Scip...I truely appreciate you telling me that there is nothing new. This wasn't a personal attack..I'm sorry if you took it this way. I guess that the lack of communication is effecting all three corr..maybe that's why recent corr have left their posts as well.

And I agree that the lack of communication is a trickle down effect.

I guess I'm feeling slighted by many aspects of the game and this is the forum I feel at home with the most. My alts corrs are well....lacking...I dont' even think they really play their profession...anyway...

Being here since Beta3 I guess I'm spoiled with some of the old school devs/corr/forums. The communication seemed to flow regularly. Maybe I'm glorifiying the "golden age" of SWG....of maybe I'm just fearful of things to come and trying to grasp onto why I thought this game was the ultimate way to spend time and money.
