I am a new MM (non Holo) and have a question about maintaining Cantinas since Iassume they require tons of maintanence and my experience with tips has been dismal. I was wondering how you made any money off them short of charging admission (which I think is a terrible idea). I was thinking you could get a vendor, but you'd have to have a seperate profession just to stock it with items or spend a lot of time getting other people to sell you stuff on the cheap to stock it. There must be a better way - or am I missing something?

To keep it simple, you cannot make money entertaining. Look for another way to make money. For the time invested, running deliveries would grant you a fortune, entertaining will leave you with some change. If a good Tailor is present, you might even end up more broke than you were before

It's also location too. For instance my cantina is in the middle of a huge guild city. Well I'm part of the guild but still the ppl come in and tip way better to me because I"m part of the guild and the fact we have so many in our guild. So I say throw it down in the midst of a huge city.

no i dont make money off my cantina. i do however get great comments like wow this place is awesome.

i pay the maintenance from my other profession- doc.

I personally have made loads and loads of credits by being hired for buffs. I hang out at popular cantinas and people end up requesting me for buffs because of my title. I made 150k in about an hour and a half. I had lines of up to 5 people. It was an amazing concept to me that I could make creds like this. I highly suggest advertising your buff works, and to always be free to do so. You may not spend much time in your cantina for awhile, but eventually you'll be able to once you have a large enough credit reserve.

My Cantina makes over 400K a week in vendor sales because of my location. Im located a little over 700m from Ft. Tusken, so ppl are always in need of mind enchancing food and drinks. My Cantina is also an AFK entertainer free zone (they are banned if AFK longer than a half hour) , so I usually have "live" entertainment there making sure that wounds are healed and ppl are buffed. The tips could be better for mind buffs, but ppl are cheap.... What can I say.
