Thread: Buffing Question now that I have dropped Master Musician

I had to drop Master Musician for the points 
Right now I am still 4/4/3/4 in the Musician tree.
I know the first row of boxes control the Buffs, but how good are my buff's going to be now??
Can I buff okay until I get to 4/0/0/0???
I am going to have to use all my Musician boxes sometime, but not right away and want to know what the quality of my buff's are going to be while I still have some Musician skills.

That's a good question. Your Musical Mind Enhancement skill won't be affected if you drop down to 4/0/0/0, so you will still be able to buff stats by 75%. But as you lose Musical Knowledge, you'll lose higher-level songs and instruments, and the devs have always insisted to me that a more "advanced" song or instrument or both affects the speed at which you confer the buff, at least in some circumstances.
Now, some people claim to see no difference whether they buff with a slitherhorn or a chid horn, or whether they play Star Wars 1 or Virtuoso. I think I do see a difference, but I'm not sure. All I know for sure is that the devs say song or instrument choice is supposed to matter in certain circumstances.

I have not noticed a change in the speed or the quality of the Buffs I have given between the Chid Horn, the Nargalon and the Omni. They all seem to do the same for the same amount of time. That is playing the same song on all, though.
I guess I will just have to use my Guildmates as guinni (sp) pigs and see what I find.

I have been giving2 hour buffs with Ceremonial played on a bandfill for 3 mins 15 seconds with the turbo buff technique (5 chained flourishes, pause 8 seconds, repeat)

Due to not being able to do jack else as a Master Entertainer/Musician/Dancer, I've sacrificed down to Skilled Dancer in the Dance tree, and I just wanted to let you know that using the FragPuppy™ method 
I can do a two-hour 75% dance mind pool buff in 3:10 doing nothing but Popular. Soooo...I'm fairly certain you could administer a full two hour 75% focus/willpower music buff in the same amount of time playing StarWars3 on the Traz.
