Well, today I bought an ommi box, bandfill, and chicawhozit horn for 500 creds each(not even a novice yet)
I also bought a fairly large supply of aluminium and steel to craft future instruments on.
This got me thinking. At master level we can craft every instrument in the game and sell them to our brethren, but do you keep the instruments you bought or do you craft a new one? This brought me to the realization that you can name what you craft.
So tell me, o masters of music, did you shape your favorites with your own hands? Do you have a pet name for your favorite instrument?
and, come to think of it, what IS your favorite?

i carry a kloo horn, bandfill, traz and nalgaron with me at all times... i know that i didnt make the kloo or bandfill... the nalgaron i made (cause someone offered me 10k for a nalg and didnt have the resources for one at the time, so i figured id sell mine) and as for the traz... i think i might have made it... not quite sure, however.
and, i dont sell instruments, if someone wants me to make one, i tell them "bring me the resources, and its yours"

As I progressed through the levels of music, I usually had a friend with whom I was playing, and I would ask them to make me instruments as I gained the skill to use them. I've preserved each of these instruments and they are now in storage in my house.

Well, I'm one of a few who make the whole range of instruments for sale on the Bazz on Chilastra. However I do some weird things for instruments. I number each one I make...Ya the computer assigns a serial number, but I put a number in the name. To keep track of what's the next one in the series, I keep one of each instrument on me at all times. So lets say you buy my current Mandoviol....lets say its #27 or "an UberMandoviol - by Uber Instruments #F00027", which is the one I keep on the bazz, well I look in my inventory and lo I have #31 in Inventory...so I build #32, and put #31 on the bazz. I use the current "next" instruments as my play set of instruments....with one exception.
I also offer limited editions in two flavors. I have a limited edtion of my "UberNalargon" (limit of 50) and also for a "1st Edition Set" consisting of all 10 plus a case (limit of 25). My one extra instrument I keep beyong my unlimited numbered ones is "an UberNalargon (#0 of 50) - by Uber Instruments". #0 being my personal or "artists proof". I have sold about half of each run, and have sold a few of the LE nals at over 10K. The scary thing is that I heard from the housemate of the owner of UberNalargon #1 of 50 that he was offerd 500K for it. Its good he didn't sell, cause the real owner would have killed him.
Oh and I play them all....no single favorite, but I do shy from the Slyth/Far/Traz sound set and never play Ommni unless its a dare. So Mando, Chid (Fizzz/Kloo), Fill and Nal

Once I was able to make my own instruments, I made myself a new one and gave my old one away. I try to keep the Bazzar in Coronet stocked with instruments so that when people qualify to play something new, they can find it. I have a 'signature' line I add the word "Diviner" to, but I know that I hate stuff with dumb names on them, so I almost never make those except for myself.
Since I've dropped Master Entertainer (again!) I carry a Traz and Narlagon in my Instrument Stand mouse droid, where my +25 Instrument Assembly outfit and some Steel, Soft Wood and Aluminum are. I have the Chidinkalu Horn and Bandfill in my inventory most of the time.
I miss my Mandoviol now. /sniffle Maybe I'll drop my Dance skills and get it back...for the fourth time.
