I have a question about Band Flourishes. Is it wrong to do them in a group without first asking the rest of the group or when someone asks you to stop? and does anyone in the group get anything from one members band flourishes? This is not meant to be a complaint question so I'm sorry if it comes out that way I just want to know what's the etiquette in this situation? I'm counting on the long time Entertainers for advice or guidance on this. Thanks in advance for your help..
I was in a ent group on Naboo and there was this guy who was doing band flos when I joined the group and he didn't have a AFK over his head so I asked nicely in group chat to please stop with the band flos as it was eating my action pool and making me stop playing. I got no answer from theother 15 group members. So I asked again and still got no answer so I said in group chat I was leaving the group because I couldn't do any flos of my own because the person who was doing the band flos had them set to run quickly (about every10-20seconds) by macro (at least I think it was a macro) and I wasn't getting any xp when he did them and that my action pool was being sucked dry. I didn't see anyone else's action going down as quick as mine was so I don't know if they were being affected like I was.

I personally think it's very rude.
Like you said the only person that gains XP from this is the person that initiates the /bandflo. Everyone else just gets their action eaten up. Of course, you need to be playing the same instrument or dancing the same dance as the bandfloer.
Some people mistakenly think that bandflos earn them extra XP, and this isn't true. Also, you can run your own flos while someone bandflos you, and you'll still get the XP for it. There's still no point, since the bandflos cost you Action.
One solution is to type in /bandflo off. This will stop you from receiving someone else's bandflo request.
Hope this helps ![]()

Thank you Kreistor.
I wasn't getting xp because I couldn't do any of my flos because his band flos were counting against me so I wasbeing toldI had to wait to do another one and by the time I was ready he had already beat me to the punch. Yea I thought it was rude of the person also but wanted to find out from the rest of the Entertainers how they felt about it whether I was going over board on this one thing.. And I had no idea about the "/bandflo off" thing I will have to remember that for the next time.

Quick note on musical bandflos... /bandflo will flo the whole band, not just the instrument used by the bandfloer (is that a word?
)
And in case it wasn't clear, there's another command to start accepting bandflos again...
/bandflo on (obviously...
)
And yes, it's very rude when someone uses bandflos in their macro. Pet peeve that will often result in being kicked from a group since it hurts all the other musicians.

Bandflourishes have two uses currently: To enhance the visual performance of the band, and to control playback droids.
If you want to control playback droids with bandflourishes, you need to exercise some caution.
Allways, and I mean allways, make the bandflo macro that control the droid specific to the instrument you have the droid playing.
The syntax for bandflourishes are:
/bandflo [1-8] {instrument}
/bandflo [on|off]
If you omit instrument name, the bandflo will be sent to the whole band, if you enter in the instrument name, the bandflos will only be sent to players or droids with that instrument.
Also, try to use the droid if there is nobody else playing that instrument. If someone else is playing the same instrument as the droid, and do not want to be affected by the droid macro, they would have to use /bandflo off
one simple droid macro would be:
/bandflo 4 bandfill;
/pause 5;
/bandflo 6 bandfill;
/pause 5;
/bandflo 1 bandfill;
/pause 5;
/bandflo 3 bandfill;
/pause 5:
/ui action toolbarSlot23;
This will only send bandflo commands to those that play bandfill (including your droid) and have /bandflos turned on.
In general, a bandflo once in a while, to spice up the performance is well and good, and most will not complain. The other entertainers only gets annoyed when its done, over and over and over, like in a macro. It is considered good behavior to ask in the group before doing bandflourishes, unless it is part of a planned performance. The gig leader will then have the responsibility of doing the bandflourishes usually.

As an aside in regards to bandflos.....
Bandflos can be abbreviated more than I've seen any other command (noone tell the devs or that will change).
As an example:
"/Bandflourish 1 bandfill" can be abbreviated to "/b 1 b"
There are only 2 instruments that share a first letter and they are Fizzz and Fanfar. I believe they can be "/b 1 fi" and "/b 1 fa".
Seeing as tho the devs never read this forum, it should be nerf safe, but don't mention it around them or they'll make us start typing them fully.
