Hi, I am leveling my musician in Theed. This is the 2nd character, I have leveled as a musician however it has been awhile. My question is last time I leveled I was in a group with very experienced entertainers who were beyond helpful. They showed me a way to stop the band so that eachperson could play their own highest song. However, I dont recall the command to stop the band nor do I recall if that is the command that is needed for this to work. Would someone mind helping me to see if this is indeed the case or if I dreamed it all last time? As it stands now, one person keeps changing the song to something I am unable to play yet causing me to stop and lose xp. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

There is nothing you can do. since you aren't playing, none of the band commands work for you.

You CAN stop the band if you aren't playing, just type /stop

Will that make it so that each person can then start up playing the song of their choice? Thank you all for your responses.

some more pecularities with the band commands:
/startband usually bugs the person who executed that command, the easiest fix is to just walk a small step forward (shift+up-arrow) and then type /startmusic to join the band you just started.
/changeband also bugs dancers in your group if they can play that song and have an instrument equipped to prevent them from falling down. typically they then play music and dance at the same time, but cannot flourish to the music, and don't respond to /stop either.
trying to switch a levelling band using /stopband /startband is a rather tedious thing because either a macro or a nervous bandmate who doesn't read groupchat will start playing waltz or jazz just a split-second before your /startband command. /rantmode off

If a /stop is done, the first person in the band to /startmusic will get the choice of song, or if they have a /startmusic (song) in their macro thenthat will start that song. Each person joining in after that will only be able to start playing if they can play the song that that person just started.
There once was a way you could leave the group and start playing whatever song you wanted and rejoin the group, BUT that has been eliminated. If you are playing a song that the group is not playing then when you join you will be stopped and will have to /startmusic to join in with the rest of the band....if you can.
Please note that...
1) If you have a /startmusic (song) in your macro and a different song has already been started, then you it will ignore the song element and act as a plain old /startmusic.
2) You get the highest XP for highest level (farthest up the tree) song OR instrument, so you need not worry about not getting the most xp possible. Also you can inform people of this if they complain about going to a lower song.
3) If you do a /stop to stop the band and restart a lower song, be kind to people and and do a /startband so that everyone joins in after you just stopped them.
4) Be careful of /change. It can only be done if you are already playing, so it won't help you to join in, however if someone else does one to a song you can play it has the effect of starting everyone who was not playing, but can play the new song, BUT everyone started in this manner is bugged and cannot flourish. They will also not respond to /stop or stop the song they are in if a /change is done to a song they cannot play. This is the only way you will hear 2 or more different songs at once, and it sounds UGLY.
