Hi all,

I'm a MM, but I guess I haven't really used my skill to it's full potential. Everyone tells me that I should be able to do mind buffs. How do I do this and what materials etc are needed?? Are there any tricks to make your buffs even better? Thanks for any info you can give me on this!

It's actually pretty straightforward, but hard for us to notice since we don't get the effects of our own playing.

When a person starts listening to you, a timer starts. When they stop listening--eitherwith /stoplisten,by going out of range, or (possibly) when you /stopmusic--the buff gets applied to their Focus and Willpower stats. The buff duration is equal to twice the amount of time they listened, for a current maximum of 30 minutes. The buff size is a percentage increase equal to half of your "Mind Enhancement" skill received in Music Techniques. At MM, this is 50%. So someone with 400 focus and 700 willpower will have 600 focus and 1050 willpower for twice the amount of time they listened.

The changes currently on Test Center (I heard being pushed live in a week or two) improves these numbers: a maximum duration of 120 minutes (probably with a listen-to-duration conversion higher than 1:2), and the buff percentage is equal to the Mind Enhancement skill. So a master musician will be able to double an audience member's Focus and Willpower ( +100%) for up to two hours. Personally, I think a two hour buff requiring no materials should take 20 or 30 minutes to apply, but we'll probably have to wait for some more testing reports to come back.

Dancers get the same skill, but their buffs get applied to the Mind pool.

Oh, and skill attachments for "Mind Enhancement (music)" do exist, so it may be possible to buff even higher. I picked one up in Theed last week. But, um, you know how on most things the radial menu goes "1: use, 2: examine, 3: destroy"? Well, since skill tapes don't have a use option, when I went double-check the bonus (I think it was +5)I accidently hit "destroy" before I got a chance to test it out. I have since turned on the "destroy confirmation" option...

Wow I had no idea we buffed at all. Will it be that we can Buff our own mind? Or if in a group since we technically "hear" our fellow muscians shoudl they not buff us?

Wow, thanks for all the info! I was going back a few pages and came across another post which had all the info in it as well. Here is the link for added info. As for buffing our own minds, I don't think it works like that since you have to actively listen/watch a Musician/Dancer then actively stop listening/watching them.
