Thread: Buffing (anti-buffing??) observations and confusion
Ok i have two probelms right now.
#1 My ctrl-c screen had two sets of numbers last night but now only has the one number for each stat like it used to. This is strange because others still have the two number stats "current value/max value" ATM i only have current value which makes the next part a little more confusing........
#2. As of this morning I and another master Music are ANTIbuffing.
I "buffed" another player using /setperform. His max values went up but his current values stayed the same. We did a full five minutes so he has lots of time on this ummm "do nothing" buff. Since there is no way to raise his focus and will power current values.
More worrisome. I was the recipient of a very short buff from a master music. Now remember i do not have the two number ctr-c at the moment for some odd reason but here is my findings. My bars went up in focus and willpower but the NUMBERS stayed the same. I guess if i had two numbers it would have raised the max value number but the current value does not change.
Now the bad part:
When the buff wore off the bars went down to their usual length but the NUMBER dropped . Now i can read this two ways it depends on which you want to believe the bar or the number. If i go with the bar then things are working well. If i go with the current number then i am anti buffed because the game reads the current value before the buff as the value AFTER the buff. Thus when the "buff" wears off it takes away ALOT from the current value number (for example i dropped from 400's to low 100's )
Very confused........any thoughts?
Which do we believe the bar length or the value number? Are we buffing or antibuffing?
This is my biggest concern about our new Musician buff. It seems frequently to mess up the stats of the listener, especially the Willpower stat but also other stats on occasion. Initially the buff works, at least for me: Focus and Willpower double, so the recipient tells me they have 900/900 of each, for example. But when the buff wears off, Willpower often drops well below the base level, so a player ends up with 200/450 or worse. I saw a little of this on Test, but it seems worse on Live. Now, logging off for six hours did clear the problem in at least one case tonight, but it's still worrisome.
I've done my best to make the devs aware of this problem.
My advice: inform the customer, in advance, that there are temporary stat bugs associated with the buff after it wears off -- sometimes even before it wears off.
