Thread: Jukebox idea!!
Hi guys.
I'm sorry if this idea has been discussed already, but here it goes...
I'm not an entertainer. I do require their services quite regularly, sometimes this requires me to planet-hop in order to find one! I was getting frustrated last night and came up with the idea of an entertainer jukebox!
The plan:
Entertainers can "craft" performances on to 'holodiscs' using a few resources, say crystal/gemstone and some metal.
There are jukeboxes in each cantina throughout the galaxy.
Entertainers can then place their recordings on the jukebox to be sold to the public.
The price of the recording is reflective of the entertainers skill, and the materials used to construct the disc.
Each disc would have a finite amount of uses. The amount of uses could increase with the entertainers skill.
A patron could buy a recording and use it at his or her leisure providing they are in a cantina or a high level camp (ranger).
XP would be given through crafting the recordings, I haven’t decided if they should give as much XP as a live performance. IMO they should only give a small amount of xp relative to a live performance (they will get 'guaranteed' money instead!)
The benefit to the customer is they could have a few recording in their inventory to use when required. The entertainers could create a steady income selling their records, as a high lvl recording do not come cheap.
For a dancer the holodisc could 'project' and image of the performance on the floor in front of the consumer. Much like the r2-d2 projections used in the films (ep. 4 i think).
In place of a holodisc/projection, a musician could craft headphones that appear on the consumers head when 'used'. Perhaps the consumer would be scripted to 'get up and bogie' when using the headphones.
The items could be beneficial to a group of people or just to an individual, I don't know.
Feel free to add/correct any ideas.
I apologise for my grammar/spelling. English is like my 3rd language...I'm not sure what the first two are.
I like a lot of these ideas. (And yes, some of them have been posted before.) I'd really like to see more of the R2-style projections you describe in this game, even if they serve no purpose other than fun. I don't see the devs allowing holostims to undermine the cantina, but I for one would love to see craftable holostims that could be used to heal mind damage (as opposed to battle fatigue or mind wounds) in the field.
Sounds very reasonable to me
