Hello everyone, I started a musician becauseI needed to get away from all that combat =). My guild needing an entertainer of some sort, and were happy that I picked it up.

I havnt been to a big cantina, acctually ive been playing in my house in guild city. Dont want to step on anyones toes. Well now the xp isnt bad, but it is taking a little while. I made a macro so I could chat with guildies and such without having to type /flo 1 a whole bunch. Im also not paying 15 bucks a month to xp while not on the computer.

Now my problem is not the lack of getting musician xp, but my lack of healing xp. My guildies arent getting hurt enough for me to level this at the same rate as the other bars. Is there any way to help this without grinding in the big cantinas?

Also is doing it for guild only a really bad plan? I dont mind if it takes a long time, I would be upset if I did it in a day. But I do want to be benifitial to my guild.

Any oppinions or help is most welcome. Also Thank you ahead of time

Helping guild members is an essential thing while being a member. The sole reason for being in a guild is to be helped and to be a helper regarding other members in the game. However, how much help can you actually be with Novice Entertainer? You can't buff, you don't heal fast, and your songs/dances lack a great deal.

My suggestion to you is to deal with the city cantinas for now. They aren't really that bad, just very laggy. You will gain a lot more musician experience in the groups, and the healer experience cannot be found anywhere else. Once you get to Novice Musician, then you can relax in your guild's cantina. You will be able to get the songs without the healer experience, and you will be able to slowly work your way up in the healer ranks without much of a change to your overall sound.

Just a side note, you are paying $15 a month anyway, regardless of when you are on. My suggestion to you is (and others will hate this, but it's necessary), go /afk when you can't be at your computer. You will gain experience. If you are in the guild cantina you will be helping your guildmates a lot more by being there when they need you, rather than only being there when you can.

Yeah, deal with Coronet, or Theed.. Musician Healing XP is going to be the hardest one to get no matter what. I would go /afk, and be in a group (a full group has 3/4 afkers!!). Just dont put any advertisements or emotes in you macro!! That is what angers me about AFK'ers. And plus for me, I would have loved to stay at my keyboard, and talk and socialize.. but the lag was so horrible, that It would take 5 minutes for me to say something, so there was no need for me to stay at the keyboard.

Good Luck!

Do any of your guildmates have Novice Medic? If so, they can help you out with the healing xp by doing /tenddamage to you while you play. That'll keep your Action up, and give them Fatigue and Mind Wounds that you heal. /tendd can be done once every 10 seconds. The only drawback is that I think you don't get Medic healing xp for doing it.

Another thing they could do to help you out is if any of them have even at least Novice Artisan, they can sample radioactives. That gives hideous wounds over a fairly short time, so getting down to 1 in Mind/Focus/Willpower shouldn't take too long. Medics in the guild could get some xp healing up their other wounds, and you can get xp for fixing their Mind/Focus/Willpower wounds.

If your guild is in a player city with a Cloning Center, anyone who can't /tendd or sample radioactives could make sure they're cloned somewhere other than your city, strip down to not carrying anything that decays and get themselves killed a few times.

The best (and sickest), of course, is if you have a Combat Medic in your guild who can do an Area of Effect mind disease. Get everyone who can to /duel him/her, lob the mind bomb, everyone listen to ya.

If none of the above are feasible, then yeah, you probably need to head to Theed/Coronet/Bestine for the EntHeal xp. Or just resign yourself to a long climb.

Also, I leave myself playing in my city's cantina when I'm not actively doing something else. I don't even need xp anymore, but I'm doing it so that any of my fellow citizens who need entertainment healing can come and get it taken care of in our home town. I put myself in the back of Keeper's Tavern so that if another entertainer comes in, they can take center stage. I think doing the same in your guild's hall/city cantinawould be generous of you (unless your ISP connectivity costs you by the minute). If your Action can't keep up with the double-flourish xp gain method, or even doing the die-off method, just make up a macro that allows you to rest often enough.

I'm glad to hear you want to help your guild; performing is an excellent way to do it. Once you can buff, you'll be even more appreciated. Like Echinacea, I'll sometimes just let my Musician hang in our city cantina until someone needs a heal or buff. Our Master Dancer tends to hang out there too, so I usually have company.

I leveled up to Master Musician in about 3 weeks at game-start; I had no Musician macro at all, so I performed entirely at the keyboard. But I ended up spending a lot of time in Coronet cantina for the XP. It'd be a lot slower in a quiet city cantina. I don't regretmy time in Coronet at all; it was fun, although then an AFK entertainer was considered an oddity. Even today, there are plenty of people at the keyboard with whom to schmooze and hang out. Yes, there are AFK'ers too, but in prime time I still find plenty of live performers.

I have to agree with Coronet and Theed, but when I was leveling, Bestine was one of the hotest spots, maybe tied with Theed for sheer volume of people. Don't know how it is on your servers, but Bestine is still pretty busy on Lowca. At least for the healing xps since Imps hate Rebs and vice versa.

Ahh, the memories...lol

Thanks again for the information.

Our guild as it is, is very close knit. I logged on today and many of them had save up 500 to 900 battle fatigue and many wounds for me to get xp from. My healing xp sky rocketed tonight. A couple of them whom wernt very busy, crafting or otherwise took a mind disease and this helped tremendously.

At first I wasnt sure I would like it much, But now that I have sound "yes started out with none"... Im acctually enjoying the sounds im making and the company that people are providing me. I think for the time being i'll continue to provide services for my smaller venue. Its a bit slower for me but its rewarding work in its own right.

i lived in the coronet cantina for a month before i mastered musician. i actually ended up maxed on healign xp before i had music tech 4. i was atk all the time but then back then afkrs were rare.

on a side note i dont go to the coronet cantina anymore. it is always jam packed with tons of people who are holo grinding. i used to go in there a lot and help make other master musicians, but now i avoid it what a shame - i miss the social interaction of meeting new people (jerks or not)

In my opinion anchorhead is the best place to get ent healing xp, people always dying there, and not so laggy
