I've held it off long enough... I've finally dropped my beloved Musician... I just can't take it anymore. I no longer saw a point to staying as a Musician, except for possibly pretending it was still the old days. I've been an entertainer since day one, and a Musician since about the first month in game... one of the first Masters on Starsider... Today, I dropped all my entertainer skills. I'm sorry guys, but I can't take it anymore. I don't even feel needed as a Musician anymore.. Inspiration buffs aren't that great, the cover charge simply didn't do a thing... I'm done. I loved being an Entertainer, I still do. But the time has come. I doubt many of you ever met me (I tend to be alone or with my guild most of the time), and I'm sorry I never met you. I'm starting to ramble now, heh...

If Musician is ever fixed, if our profession has a genuinely good use again, I'll gladly work my way back to the top, and enjoy it.. But for now, it's time for me to hang up the Mandoviol and put the Nalargon in storage... It was great fun guys, keep fighting the good fight! It's time for this soldier to retire...

IF you think that inspiration buffs are not that great, then you need to group hunt more. Every group I have been in that was hunting for xp, has had almost every member with an inspiration buff. Everyone can use inspiration buffs now, not just fighters.

Crafters use it to get that little extra while grinding, smugglers can use it when buying faction to get an extra discount , youmay feel unneeded, but in my opinion it's more usefull now than before, there's no food in the game that can do what an entertainer can now.

Buddy, I group hunt all the time.. It's only a 10% bonus, and when hunting Gurk's I'm not really concerned with that extra 250 of XP...

And the really sad thing is, everyone BUT musicians and Dancers can use the inspiration buff, but when one of them tries to use it in their choosen profession, guess what, you get it but you can't use it because you have to stop playing or dancing to get the buff, and when it starts again, it disappears, so we get doubly stuffed on the inspiration buff. I was Master Musician for a very long time on my main char on naritus and Loved it very much, but the holo grindung and everything since then has ruined the entertainer fields, ID had it good there for a bit but now they have, nothing, since there are no stats to migrate anymore. The dwindling numbers in the entertainer fields have me wondering what we are all going to do when there are none left and we have no way to heal our BF anymore.

Some are some are not. Most of the hunters I see use it. Every littl bit helps. Not only that but an inspiration bufff helps crafters in their crafting. Never till the CU did my crafter use an entertainer... now I will get a buff to go craft cause it helps on the success roles. Before when I did go hunting I rarely got a mind buff, brandy could take care of what I needed.

i sympathize with you all the way. i was and am amusician at heart and that was what initially drove me to get this game, but now, even if the inspiration buff is marginally useful, in my opinion it makes us nothing more than buff bots the way it has been implemented. i really tried to hold on hoping the devs might say something, anything, about how they plan to kill us or upgrade us. they have only said somethingis coming. what we have no idea. maybe this inspiration thing WAS the something. at any rate, i write this as i stand in the coronet cantina on bria, where surprisingly there are a lot a people, but still there are 4 afk ents. this is a good day. furthermore, we have a nearly useless tree, the techniques tree, which lets u shoot fire and make instruments. the same tree has instrument assembly bonuses which as far as i know, never meant anything. wound healing is now the inspiration and we begged to be able to self buff like docs in the past; now we can, but not for our ent stuff! just plain stupid if u ask me. when i first started playing, and finally figured out this game works, i started dreaming of being a rifleman/musician who wouldgo on hunts keeping all the other rifleman buffed and healed of mind wounds. that seemed useful. thanks to the respec, the only thing saved this game for me entirely is that i can hunt again as master rifleman. but the musician side has been totally killed. it was bad before in some ways, but now it looks like their experiment is finished and they are going to get rid of us. i wsh they would just make ent skills not cost anything like being a pilot and then u could still be a musician and all theother stuff too. i bet that is what they are going to do so if they are, i wish they would get to it. at any rate, i am going to fully leave the profession too (up to this point i am still holding onto musician 3040 thinking someting might happen,but... my only question is, what goes well with rifleman? being a diehard musician i didnt want to respec the whole ent stuff so i held on; i should have known better.

an inspiration bufff helps crafters in their crafting

---------------------------

one of my toons is master weaponsmith...ive noticed nothing. crafted30 weapons with an insp. buff and30 without one to test this cause i was considering dropping musician with another toon so i wanted to see if there was any use for it for my crafter..theres no advantage as i could see. maybe when you get the awsome components for a weapon and you just dont wanna take a chance of a criticle failure then maybe id get one but there is asbsolutely no NOTICBLE difference in crafting with an inspiration buff. in fact, i had more moderate successes while buffed and more amazings while unbuffed in my test..but i think it was just luck. Coarse i was in a research center and im not sure if an entertainer buff will stack with that bonus so my test may be faulty. fyi
