So I pulled out the master musician to have a little fun and be entertaining. I mean who doesnt like targeting random people and hitting them with ventriliquism.

It took me a day to convince all the musicians in my little corner of the galaxy to put in a 1k cover charge, Its not much compaired to what the combat people were pulling in and the xp benifits. so in comes one of the more prominate musicians on the server, starts spaming while im in group that her and another musician dont charge a covercharge.

what am i suposed to do when the master musician and dancer takes over the group in my cantina and starts spaming about no covercharge?

If it were me, I'd promptly put them on ignore and proceed to put on a better show than them, addressing everyone who comes in by name, asking them where they've been hunting, how their day is goingand Not annoying people with spam.

I can tell you as a non Entertainer, I won't watch/listen to people with /covercharge on, even if it's the same or less than I'd usually tip them. Of course part of this comes from the fact that the few people I've seen with it on, have also been AFK, or ATK while spamming a macro, which I consider even worse.

Put on a good show and you'll get good tips. Demand upfront that I pay you X amount before you've done anything and you get ignored. Sorry.

Yeah also there are some people that will tip you a lot, but if you have a cover charge on and theylisten you, I find it unlikely they will tip you any extra. Those who were not going to tip you will certainly notlisten toyou if you have a charge set.

You're worried about a Master Musician or Dancer not charging a covercharge? I'd be much more worried about the random grinding novices. All you need is any single entertainer not charging a covercharge to mess up the plan.

As with the other performers have stated, I don't charge a covercharge, but rather work for tips. Tips vary greatly, but if I stressed over income from performing I wouldn't enjoy doing it. That was part of the reason I often didn't enjoy buffing....before the "Rage of the Buffbots".

Personally, I'd do as Esh said, put on a better show than them, but I'd never have set up a covercharge or convinced bandmates to use it. I trust my show to get me tips, and I think the covercharge as implemented wasn't so well thought out.

Don't worry about it. Just be there and talk to your customers.

I confess that for practical reasons I have a buff bot... but pretty often I go to the cantina and if I find an ATK entertainer I tip a lot. After all, I started as a dancer long time ago, on Chilastra.
