Has anyone seen this?

2 things I want to point out.
- One of the reasons that SOEsaid why they would not add a composer would be because of copyright issues.
- Although not impossible to copy a song, there would be no way to convert it directly with this kind of interface.

I watched the demo, and it looks nice and simple. But as a student of Western music, it looks impossible to use Hyperscore to compose or read music. Rather, it seems like I would be forced to use trial and error and go with the flow, sacrificing whatever tune I had in my head. Of course I haven't tried it, so I can't say whether or not I like or dislike it.

Well, it's has to be something that you can't convert a score directly. Otherwise, you'll get popular songs converted over, then copyright infringement, etc.
What you are using now is just another interface. Once you got use to it, I'm sure you'll be able to move between the two. The end product is the same. However, on that level of ability, I'm sure you would rather compose your own rather than just copy.
With something like this, the layman could still compose music and they would actually have compose it rather than copy sheet music.
