Tarnak_Archvold is there somplace I can find more info on composing songs like this? I think I can figure most of it out from just looking at this... but I never knew you could do this before. When you say /bandlourish 1 Mandoviol (that will just make anyone playing a Mandoviol flourish 1 right) then ;/echo Corish (will echo the flourish 1 of the Mandoviol with any Corish)

Can you place a pause in an instrament? /pause 3 Mandoviol; for instance? Would be great to shut down some instraments and switch to others... would also be nice to see the addition of a volume command so you can increase or decrease the volume certain instraments play at in the band (some are just overpowering and other times you just want to focus on a certain section of the band)

Excuse me if this info is already in the sticky threads, I just have not happened across it yet.

No, pause will not stop the instrument from playing so it can't be used like that. Pause is used to set the amount of time from one flourish to another, but you will still perform the base tune during that time. And as far as I know, you can not cause any other player to perform an action (or not perform actions in the form of pause)outside of bandflourishes.

"/bandlourish 1 Mandoviol"
Yes this command will make anyone in the band with a Mandoviol do flourish 1.

"/echo Corish"
The Echo command will send a system message to your self. I use it as a debugging tool, and to se how far along a composition I am.

"Can you place a pause in an instrament?"
No, I do not think that is possible, I wish it were. /pausemusic will pause you own music so it don’t play, but you can pause others. The /pause are in there to space out the song the inactive instruments wound start on the next bandflo when they was supposed to play the "no flourish preformed" sound.

"would also be nice to see the addition of a volume command so you can increase or decrease the volume certain instraments play at in the band"
If there are more then one like sounding instrument thair sound is louder. So if you have 2 mandolins they are more dominating, but that is the only volume control I know of. (and as there a 3 audio identical sounding of each horn they can easily become dominating)

"is there someplace I can find more info on composing songs like this?"
Not that I know of, I picked up the individual commands here. But from there on out it is "trial and error", witch is why they are still works in process.

An easy way of increasing the number of a certain kind of instrument is to use droids with playback modules. I've recently started giving my new droid several mandoviol tracks so I can hear myself when I'm playing among many horns.

thanks for the info.

I knew the pauses were for gaps between the flourishes etc... was just wondering if there was a way to /pausemusic other.

The only way I can think of to get other to pause thair music would be to do a countdown.

/GroupChat Anyone not playing a mandolin do /pausemusic 3 times in:
/pause 2;
/GroupChat 3;
/pause 1;
/GroupChat 2;
/pause 1;
/GroupChat 1;
/pause 1;
/GroupChat Now!;
[Insert 3 mando floes here]
/pause 15;

Put this in and if the other musicians ate ATK and wand perform a good show it should work.

I have many helper macros set up including:

/firejet 1

/firejet 2

/dazzle 1

/dazzle 2

etc,,,,,,

Each effect has 3 different versions, but the default is always the highest level (at master its #3) so these let me do them whenever without typing them.

I have also set up helper macros on Bandflos.....but save yourself time......instead of "/bandflourish 1" or even "/bandflo 1" you can abbreviate to "/b 1".....it works. Also if you are targeting bandflos you can do all but 2 (fizz and fanfar)with the first letter of the instrument. So instead of "/bandflouish1 chidinkalu" you can just do "/b 1 c". Try it...it works.

Other than these....my macros are boring functional things......and a couple songs.

Save yourself time typing it out for a macro?

That's like people that put "can buff u plz tip 4 grp thx" in a shout macro... Well, okay not quite as bad... Cause it's not something people see.
