Instruments are pretty boring. They're really simple and so one sided. In addition to giving them experimentation and the like, they deserve properties.

One, should be HAM costs. Wouldn't it be nice to have a good instrument that plays nice music without you blowing so hard? A cool idea - low level smugglers can slice instruments! Wow! COOL!

Another should be sound quality. I heard rumor that high experimentation + good resources = sharper notes. It ended up with gobs of people denying it. I would be all for some slight pitch changes / speed changes. Would be nice if this was sliceable too.

Just adds some dimension.

Slicing instruments? I'm sorry, but that's just a bad idea. Sliceable travel packs are bad enough.

However, I would be all for instrument quality differences. I mean, there's a difference between a rosewood marimba and a Kelon marimba. There's a difference between Pearl cymbals and Zildjian cymbals (ugh, Pearl cymbals.)

However, I wouldn't want the notes to be sharper. I think the slitherhorn is a hair out of tune as it is. The problem as I forsee it here is the code. They might be able to just make bad instruments play out of tune with a simple equalizer program; then again, they may not. It might be interesting to have the instrument quality affect flourish failure rates (like dancers fail) if they ever implement them.

However, as I said, the problem is with implementation. They already recorded the music for what would be a %100 percent quality instrument. The problem with music is that, other than a distortion device (like an eq,) there's no way to affect the sound quality simply by sliding a scale.
