specifically macroing related to starting and stopping music....

This Post will appear on multiple profession boards I will share the results on those boards....

Situation:

Holocron tells me to master image designer,

I am a

ranger 0-0-3-0

medic 1-1-1-1

And more recently a Novice Image designer....

among other things...

I can run simlutanious instances, one of my accounts is a master dancer (inherited, I know little about the porfession)

Objective:

Maximize experiance while macroing...and mastering....
(initially)

Image desiner

Entertianer

Medic

Ranger

Idea:

so far its worked without a macro but I want to try a macro for this so if you know the macro string for any particular section please post( with pause times and etc):

Step 1:

Group with dancer

Step 2:

start dancer on a low action/high mind regen dance

step 3

setperforamnce "name"

step 4

set ranger camp up (and pause time for this action between taking down the camp and setting another camp up....(also need the macro string to take the camp down)

step 5:

start image design macro targeting dancer, and selecting a repitative cycle of commit (probably eye color) (10 sec?)

step 6:

start dancer macro of accpet changes from image designer (pause time? given the pause time in step 5?)

step 7:

after requisite period heal target (dancer)

stap 8:

begin playing music

step 9

stop playing music

step 10

repeat step 5-10....

step 11

stop maco

step 12

sit and log out

so in essence I will be getting survival experaince, medic experaince and PL Image design and at times some musician exp....

Thanks in advance.....

After I assemble the requisite macro and test I'll post the resultant maco on the boards where this appears....

I might be wrong here but I'm fairly sure that you can't macro accepting changes, however feel free to prove me wrong.

Ok... Did my reading, its possible. Anyways going through that I counted four or five different macros, and you can have more then one macro going at the same time, this can save you some programming headache.

I'm not sure where the Start/Stop music part comes in because you can't image design and "Skill Animate" at the same time.

Anyways, Step 2, 3 and 7 are all one macro, if its the dancer healing itself. In this sort of a macro you put the /healDamage commands in the dancer flourish macro, if the dancer has ran out of action then it will heal, if its at full health or dancing it won't heal. I also suggest a /startDance command in there to kickstart it.
Otherwise #7 would be a 5th macro running on your second account In which case this would be something like /pause 120; /healDamage [Dancer's Name]

Step 4 is your usual ranger camping macro. I'm sure you got something adequate already made up.

Step 5 and 6 you can find on the Image Designer forums, and again yes its the same pause for both, in theory you could do it with 2 second pauses, but you need the timing set up right and lag can do funny things.

Remember you can also have a macro call several other macros using the /ui action toolbarSlotxx; command.
Steps 1, 10 and 11 I don't suggest putting in a macro, but rather having you do to set up the concurrent macros.

If you need help feel free to PM me.

And for all the macro flames this is sure to get, it tends to be the most unentertaining (forgive the pun) part of the gameplay that gets macro'd. And while I know many of you love glorified chatrooms, it doesn't do well to chastise the players that don't want to play to your style, but are being dragged through it to get a promised reward and is more of a sign of a bad game system rather then the player. But hey, if you're willing to pay $15 a month to keep pressing the '1' key I bet you also loved crafting in DAoC.

Nvoigt, when the AFK surveying popup window thingy went in, I know I saw a comment from Holocron saying that it wasn't technically against the EULA to use the in-game tools to perform actions even if you weren't at the keyboard. No, they don't like it. Yes, they want to stop it. I don't think they want to stop it enough, because if they had a no keyboard/mouse activity timer like The Sims Online, it wouldn't matter how good your macro was if you weren't there to twitch the mouse. And the 3rd party macroing tools that would get used to bypass that are a violation of the EULA. (Before anyone gives me any flak about TSO...that is a glorified chatroom, and I couldn't handle it for more than a couple months, hoping the whole time some actual content would be added...funny, right up until I got into the SWG beta. It's just no fun to be a Sim when what you enjoy about The Sims is micro-managinga whole herd of them.)

It's very obvious how you feel about the issue. Don't know (and don't care) if it's obvious that I feel if the people who designed the game couldn't muster the native intelligence to put in a timeout like that, and did put in a good in-game macro tool, I'll use it when I feel like it and not use it when I don't feel like it, but I still feel that keeping everything within the game is, well, fair game.

Pikeman_Saint, I don't know that there is a command line way to disband a camp. I tried lots of combinations of disband and camp with various capitalizations and couldn't get it to work. I looked on the Ranger board, but didn't see it there either. Might have changed by now, though. And I didn't try anything with an underscore character in it. I just left myself sampling things while in a scout camp, and had a macro pull out a new camp about everyhour, when the ones I was using disintegrated about every 42 minutes or so. Not themost efficient, but it was still better than what I'd have gotten otherwise. No clue how long it would take for a good Ranger level camp to poof! though.

I also couldn't get the Image Design macro to work, so I just practiced on myself when I had downtime from Dancing or was surveying (since a Zabrak's mind regen can support both ID and sampling). But then, I was doing that at mykeyboard, and only wanted enough to get Master Entertainer.

A CSR will not take any action against them unless they are using a macro to exploit, be they AFK or not.
