Thread: Musicians should loose their buffing ability!

You can see doctors out there all the time selling buffs. However the entertainers don't even deserve their ability to do mind buffs. If your lucky you can find one that's NOT afk. Even then, they often just say no to your request to buy one. Add to that the fact that their buffs only last 1.5-2 hours it hardley makes the effort to get one worth it. By trhe time you get through the shuttle waits, arrive at your destination, hook up with a group and run a mission or two, they are all gone. You can forget finding an master dancer or musician out in the field buffing in out of the way cantinas or camps.

I'm sorry and I know that I will get flamed, but these classes are completely useless in how they play the game. I would rather have NPS entertainers to heal and buff.

Thank god for AFK buff bots. But still, the mind buffs are horribly weak compared to doc buffs.

This is the most absurd thread. Just because you don't have people skills enough to make nice with an entertainer that isnt afk... (most people in this forum) you think my 275 customers should loose their right to buffs? With this kind of attitude towards entertainers its no wonder that your hearing "no" a lot. Maybe you should direct your efforts to help get entertainers back in the cantina's via removing the afk-macrotainers. I can tell you that I for one am buffing all the time. Both in the cantina and in camps all over. Here is an average day relating to buffs. Start in my hometown buffing in the cantina/ jamming. Go hunting with people. Buff in a group by the krayts. Go to an exotic planet, more hunting more tent buffing. Go back to a quieter planet meet up with friends. Run around and get /tells to buff some more so I do. Head home, work on my city, buff and jam. Now if someone came up to me with the attitude of "gosh its about time I found a d@m entertainer to do a buff for me. FFW, buff me." I would prolly say no too. Why? Because its not your right to be buffed by me. I make ton's of money with my regulars why would i decide to take crap from you for a measly 5k, I have 7mil all from entertaining. Your particular 5k means nothing. Now I play an entertainer for the fun, interactions and friendships that come from it. You walk in your cool, your nice; of course I would. Why? Because I may have just met another nice friend or at minimum a new customer.

I suggest you first seak out the true entertainers on your server, then make nice and soon your problems will be eliminated.

I cant explain why the musicians on your server act like this, but I know it is not how I play the game. I have an extensive client list that I travel to for buffs. Thats right, I go to them. I make a good living in the game doing this too. I also group buff so they can all reap the benefits of what is a useful buff. Igo out in the field with them as I am almost a master pistoleer too. Sounds like the people you have run in to dont have an interest in playing the game or dont know how to.

Please stop making absurd generalizations about all musicians.

Although you have the right to post this thread, I think it's the most idiotic post on the musician forums, including the ones about buffbots.

Oh, brother, anyway, and you do the right to post this, but it is an idiotic thread.

Not all musicians/dancers are afk and such. I don't do that, and I buff customers when I'm out and about ,and yes, I travel to places here and there. I didn't hear anyone complaining when I was buffing them soo. -shrug-If people don't like the buff service of entertainers, then it's your right to not use it.

Well... Not much I can say that hasn't been said but...

If someone asks for a buff from me, and isn't a complete jerk, I'll give them one. If someone asks, I make it clear that it's only an 86% buff 'cause I'm not master and buff anyway. (86%... Thanks Dor for that extra 11% You're the nicest dancer in the galaxy...)

Make about 5K a time when not buffing friends/hunting buddies. And am never AFK. Just ignore your AFK musicians. Don't tip them. If there's a buffbot about, use an at-keyboard musician. They'll appreciate it a lot more. And talk to your musician. You might even make a new friend.

And above all, I KNOW the dancers look nice in their skimpy costumes... But your musicians need to earn a living too. If we're at-keyboard, throwing us a tip or a stim once in a while doesn't hurt.

Most real musicians are great people and fun to hang around with, I've found. Just because the ones you've met on your server are AFK-tainers, it doesn't mean we all are.

Troll alert! Don't feed the trolls, people. Notice this particular chicken doesn't even include his server or character name. Probably best, since any performer who's at their keyboards would put him on /addignore. What a putz.

HA HA. You make me to be the problem. I am very nice to ent's in game. The problem with your proffession still exists, whether you want to admit it or not. Read the Dancer forum. I posted te same thing there and every one of them admits and understands the problem. Furthermore, they understand the frustaion I felt when I made the post.

If you want to know how I ask for a buff...lets see...just yesterday

Me: "Can i buy a buff from you please?"

Ent: "How about NO!"

:Me: "That was a little rude. All you had to say was 'sorry, no'".

Ent: "How about you go F^&* yourself."

Me: "What a jerk"

I love it when you throw out the work troll when ever you don't like or want to hear what's said.

This is not a musician issue it is a Holocron issue. It is obvious that the person you spoke to was just grinding by the holocron's orders. He probably didn't even know how to give a buff. Any real musician would have given you a buff because it is how they make a living.

How about we take ranged support away from all the people who are tumbling for medics to gain xp. Sounds just as ridiculous doesn't it?

NEVER TIP AN AFK ENTERTAINER!

Yeah, I agree with that, most people do. Tip the people who are working at it and trying to be good entertainers. The measure of a good musician/dancer isn't their skill level, that's just a reflection of the time they've put in. The measure of their worth comes when you see them providing the services needed by the community. Holy damn, I just got an idea.

I never said that all Ents are like this. I did say thatgood onesare hard to find. This wasn't the only rude Ent. I find that there are a higher percent of them than say 'rude docs'. Yes there are rude docs. I'm not saying otherwise. It's just the percentages that I find troubling. The Ent in the example was wearing a master title...or else I wouldn't have asked.

I never seriously expected that Ents would loose their buffing ability, and I can't believe that you would even worry about that. I would like to see some measures put in place to make the afk thing more difficult. Like crafting. You any get 10% crafting xp when using a factory to work in your absence. The devs have gone out of their way to make profs harder to master, but maily the combat profs. Personally I prefer the live Ent. I enjoy Rp, but find it very lacking in this game.
