Thread: AFKers solution to being AFK
you said that you booted the afk'rs with the flags first. it seems to me by doing this your essentially rewarding the people who go afk but dont want you to know and therefore have there afk flags intentionally turned off.
i afk macro occasionally myself, but when i do i always make sure my flag is on so that others dont try to speak to me and think im just being rude.
my point is, it just seems like your rewarding those who are hiding there afk'age as opposed to those who are at least making it a point to let you know they arent physically there.
Why do I get the feeling that the hard core will just add /say lol; to the macro

Wont work. When ever I lead a group of musicians I keep an eye on everyone's activity. If the group gets full and more ppl want to join. First I kick all those with the AFK flag if I get no immediate response from them. Then I move on to those who never speak in spatial or group chat. If I get no response, booted.

I would have a kid sit down and move my mouse or push the buttons but there are some labor laws against that.
Not if its your kid. Get busy making one.
so what if you kick them? just set an acept to any group invite and then the afkers can group with eachother
from what i've seen there are more of them than standard players in cantinas.
the real solution is to give entertainers missions whare they can do various florishes on demand, or allow an interative flourish-on-demand sort for a one-on-one heal/buff sesion that gives bonus XP and bonus heal/buff.
HEHE...
There was a time that I would AFK harvest with my character all night. At the time the server would boot me if I was afk for too long (this does not happen anymore for some reason).
I devised a solution that I thought was pretty funny.
- I got an old case fan, and connected it to my computer's power supply, but left it dangling outside the case.
- Then I got a feather from one of my roommates (don't ask why she collects feathers).
- I removed the trackball from my optical trackball (optical mice work fine too).
- I taped the feather to the case so that the end of the feather was hovering over the optical sensor.
- Then I directed the fan to blow on the feather.
Worked great...
