As the title said I just came back.

- First thing I noticed is all the other master musician (and even part musician) I have known, they ALL have surrendered the skills or stopped. None survived.
- Second thing I noticed was... public cantinas are now the realm of afk macroers and of starwars1. You hear this sound ?
It's the slitherhorn waa, wawawaaaa, wa, wawaaaaaa ! it hurts and burn me... it was an annoyance it is STILL a terrible annoyance. Every time I play this song i play WITHOUT THE SOUND.
- songs : it's been more that 6 month now and we still have always the same song, same useless missions, same instruments... there is nothing new...

Except 2 things that are good :

- The mind buff seems to be more usefull than when I leaved (it lasted 10 mins at this time, a hour based duration is much better)
- Since I'm one of the few master musician on this server, I had 3 propostion for entering a PA, and about 8 proposition to place a theater or a cantina in a city (some free with a mount as a welcome gift).

It is obvious that the artistic prefessions need to MOVE. I decided to never surrender the profession (since i'm kinda stubborn) and to support it, but playing always the same 9 musics (I refuse to play sw1 with a slitherhorn in the band...).

This post is here for a single reason : I really want someone to answer "but now you have this new_music new_flourish new_command new_instrument coming / on test center !".

I wish I could say new songs were on Test Center, but they're not. We really, really need new songs; six months is a long time to play the same ten tunes. (Yes, ten for me; gotta love that mando and Ceremonial.) I can only tell you this: a batch of new songsis in active production. I don't know when they will arrive. I've repeatedly asked the devs for a timetable, but I haven't gotten one. Likewise, I've been pressing the devs for better gig missions and more content generally for Musicians. In response, the devs have asked for player suggestions on gig missions and ways to reduce AFK'ing; I've sticked threads here on both subjects.

You're right, the biggest development since you left has been our buff to Focus and Willpower. It's a good buff; vastly improved and debugged since you left, though some debugging remains. Another significant development is the advent of Player Cities and player-run cantinas. For me, at least, this has changed how I play my Musician. He now tends to hang out in our city cantina, healing and buffing the locals. But yes,we need lots more Musician-specific content.

Inpolls of the SWG playerbase, players seem to split evenly down the middle between those who want more content and those who want bug fixes. I've sometimes wondered how Musicians wouldvote. My guess is that we Musicians would opt for more content. Our profession has its share of bugs, but compared to others it works pretty well; unfortunately, weneed more to do. The trouble is that content takes a long time to deliver.

Well there is some hope on the AFK issue. Player cantinas. I don't allow anyone to be AFK in mine. I'll kill repeat offenders, literally. (I used to kill first time offenders, but then I though about it and decided a temporary ban and an email explaining why would be better.) Today in there I heard something I haven't heard in a pick-up entertainer group in a long time.... A full band! A narlagon, a traz, a chid horn, a mandoviol, and an ommni box. And it wasn't a gig, it was just people getting together jamming.

Inside my heart is breaking, my make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly - my friends

Wish I could do that, but most of my Musician friends have 1.) Stopped playing or 2.) Gave up on Musician. It's been months since I last heard a full band...oh well.

AFK marco'ing is...I can't find a word for it. For those who roughed it out, sitting in front of their computer for hours without going AFK for too long, and now seeing these people walk in, go AFK, and never talk for hours, maybe even a full day, it's almost, with me, cheating. I mean, it's an active profession, you don't just go to a cantina, go AFK and never talk, you set up a macro that'll stop when you're action bar goes down, stop playing, sit down, and get up again while talking to people. Best way to get to know others. I haven't gotten any AFK Entertainers though in my cantina so, I hope I've escaped from that.
