Thread: A true PERK for master musicians

I know many of us have expressed concerns reguarding songs and instrument sounds.. I know this is only dreaming, cause it's impossible to suggest what I'm about to, without fixing the basics first.. However, how about giving a Master Musician the perk of "customized" flourishes..

  1. Allow a special option window for Master Musician to use that brings up a musical chart that gives you a 10 note length flourish option to customize.. From this window option you pick the "style" of song.. ie startwars1, rock, virtuoso, ballad, etc etc..This gives you as starting rythem to work from..

  2. Then you are given a 21? note option to place notes anywhere you wish on the chart from deep base, to higher alto, or whatever.. With each note placed you have two options.. A single count note or a double count note.. What I mean here is that since each custom flourish would only allow a 10 count, you can either do 10 single count notes or 5 double counts notes that give the sound appearance of "hold" a note longer.. So insense you actually have 42note options (21 X 2)

  3. Once you have this 10 note set up the way you like it.. you then name it as "default" playing flourish or fourish 1-8 like all the other songs..

  4. Add more "moves" to this option as well.. Before or after you name and save this custom flourish, you can select from a list of "move" options.. There is NONE for the default flourish, but the other 8 would allow you to choose from a list of like 10 or 12, that would graphically show your move when you flourish

  5. Each custom flourish would be given a special name just like when you do macro's.. The are forever there unless you edit or delete them.. Customer flourishes can be done just like macro's.. Name them and then hotkey them..

  6. You can even allow the use of Macro'ing a special custom song (flourishes)..

Just a thought.. But then I don't thing SOE has the skill or know how to make this happen.. but I can still dream..

The following is a NewJedi post:

I would love this capability, but it raises significant copyright concerns. If you or I tap out "Hey Jude" in Coronet cantina, that's probably a "public performance" of a copyrighted work, and public performance is one form of copyright infringement. Sony is a major holder of copyrights; I very much doubt they'll want to create a vehicle for the violation of copyrights. And my understanding is that LucasArts is also concerned about the issue.

I'd love for some additional content added to the Master Musician box. Perhaps the ability to craft holo-recordings?

I love the idea too, but feel it is necessary to give people a way to be an entertainer and make some credits doing it. I am tired of relying on tips. You can tell by my signature that I support myself with other professions in order to provide for my musicians needs. I dont think it should be that way.

I could be way off here though. Does the community want songs and flos before a better way of making some money in the game?
