Thread: How much do you charge for a buff?

This is something I'm growing more curious about as I gradually move up the musician tree. I'm really torn though because our buffs cost us nothing monetarily so I can't see making the price insanely high but it takes 6-7 minutes to buff someone which is a lot of our time. So what do you current master musicians charge?

When asked what I charge, I simply say I accept tips. I tend to get 1K or even 2K. The best money comes from large group buffs. Rebels or Imps love to group with masters for the group buff. I usually make 20K or more (about 2K per person).

Honestly, if you need the cash, harvest resources with your available lots..

I already do and that's how I make my living but I do plan on offering my services to people and I want to come up with a fair pricing plan. The buffing for tips seems like a good plan and I'll probably do that once I get up there.

I charge 5k and I have never heard a word of complaint.

A player can get all the doctors buffs they want, without our buff's, they wont be donning that 1337 armor..

Besides, everyone is rich anyway, and nobody tips for crap anymore, get it while you can.

My response to "How much to buff me?" is "Whatever you think appropriate." I get anywhere from 1k to 10k in tips for single performances, and usually about 5k per person for group buffs, but up to 13k each sometimes. If someone doesn't tip me at all and doesn't even say 'thank you' or anything, I just put them on my ignore list so that I won't ever see a request from them again.

I think it's not too much to ask of someone who's getting the buff to go do a couple missions at 50k each to part with 1k/minute of my time to enable them to go make that kind of money for themselves.

I have not charged for my buffs, but I have received an average of 6,000 credits per buff I perform, so even those few people who have not tipped haven't really bothered me. However, since I feel like I am in a way stealing business from other musicians when I don't charge for buffs, I will probably set my fee to 6,000.

I tell people there is no charge, but they typicallytip between 1k and 5kanyways. A few people haven't tipped anything, but as long as they are gracious, I don't sweat it.

There is a buff FAQ threed on this board, it has lots of usefull information about the musician's buff.

As for my fee, I'm like many MM and I just say I accept tips. I normally get about 2-3k sometimes more. I've never gotten stiffed on a buff, but I have gotten a few tips under 100 credits which I think is a bit insulting.

i charge 3k, because ive run into people who will take the buff and just dont tip, if i say "tip what you think is apropriate" so i figure, if im going to go out of my way to help them, they should help me a bit in return, and well, on a good night, i can make an easy 50k
