Many of us suggested adding pets for master musucians to act as backup musicians in our own little group, or fillers in larger groups. Lets face it... the music they designed sounds better when multiple different instruments play together. Thing is, you can't always find a group to play with, and when you do, they don't always want to do your band florishes or can't play the level song you want to play.

Solution... simple! The pet system already functions! CH's have pets, droids are pets, and anyone with faction points can own their own set of NPCs ready to do their bidding! Why can't musicians have NPC group members? You get one midway through the skill tree and a second at master!

What do we get in the droid invasion? A special effects droid!?!? I hardly ever use those special effects now! Why do I want a droid to spam "smoke" for me? Not only that, but now these special effects won't cost the entertainer action points! Can you imagin the fireworks spam in the full cantinas when a group of 20 all have their droids out?

Sure, it's a cool feature, but I'd much rather have a bandfil droid and a fizz droid playing backup for me while I play Nalargon in my cantina! And lets face it, the Nalg sounds pretty lame alone!

I don't even use the effects much anymore, noticed it annoyed some people, so tend to avoid them.

Ya, my problem with special effects is they are simply frosting, there is no function (yet there is a cost) for them in the game mechanics. Say, special effects had a positive effect on buffs: the number of flourishes decreases buff waiting, while the number of SFX could add a bonus value to the buff. Instead, we're just givenmore of something that does nothing. Hooray! Maybe before loading more frosting on the cake, finish baking it.

But I do understand what's going on. The artists can spend time coming up with the new cool effects at their leisure, while the coders are being pressed from all sides. So it's probably easier to just add some new art to the game without having to worry about doing too much else.

I agree with your idea, having a backup 3P0 droid just playing backup on a bandfill, even if itdidn't knowhow to flourish, would be so awesome--even if it did mean somebody had to code. I like visiting rim worlds, going in the deserted taverns, so ifthis had been the announcement I'd actually be excited right now.I'm thinking just having probots with slots to carry gear is more attractive, so I doubt I'll even buy one of these smoking/lightning droids.

I agree, I've also been told the special effects a more annoying than anything. Sure they are cool once in a while, but with a droid that can spam them as long as it's bettery lasts, it will get VERY annoying. A backup band member would be much more useful.

i think its good something is going in for musician, whether its some specific someone asked for or not...at least this way people who enjoy choreographing numbers and such can do with special effects that wont drain their action pools.

just my opinion, but im not a musician so i guess i cant say much i think if people can find people that care more about having fun with the music than with getting their next skill you will have more fun...i used to do that with dancer, its not about xp you dont need master in one day. and if you gotta find people that are rare to do bandflourishes with its what you gotta do i had alot of fun doing dances like that and it never bugged us that we all didnt get 1bil xp each flourish.

i think the droids will be good to some extent. there is more of an emphasis brought out to the classes that have been trivialized. and that alone is an accomplishment. so i personally think its great.
