We've asked the devs about this in our Top Ten Questions. No reply yet.

I agree that it would be nice, but I don't think it would be a good idea. Two reasons why we shouldn't be able to buff ourselves:

1. The entertaining professions are meant to be social - if you are a master musician who doesn't know any other master musicians, then you're doing it wrong. Make friends, buff each other.

2. The logic behind being able to entertain yourself while playing music for yourself is totally bonkers.

- I support the CU and am grateful that we have a game that continues to evolve rather than stagnate. Join the positive voices!

Maybe you are right. I amgoing musician just to get chicks.

Seriously, though. Have you ever heard a band that was just truly awful? They are the only ones who are entertained by playing music. Think about it.

And social shouldn't mean helpless.

Im pretty sure this has come up many times but just to mention it, musicians and dancers really should have the ability to buff themselves since doctors can it would only make sense that musicians and dancers could to

1. Just tonight I was doing buffs in a busy cantina, and another gal came in and was doing them nearby. I decided it was time to head out, and I asked her for a buff. She refused to give me one! She was just ignoring me, downright rude I thought, but I finally got to her when I sent her a tell saying I didn't want to bother with a spammer anyway. On the one hand, grouping is encouraged when you're learning... but once you hit master things are different. The power gamers have no room for masters in their groups. Anyway, I realized it's like being a shirt salesman, only I'm not allowed to wear my own shirts. If I want to wear a shirt, I have to go to the competition next door, and then get quoted a crazy price like the one musician gave me.

2. I already canplay and heal myself, and that ain't worth the points invested, if I were doing it to be practical.

1. as someone else said social should not mean helpless
we can heal our own minds and BF while playing so also your logic fails there........ I know around 15 m.musicians but it is my opinion that it is simply unfair that docs can buff themselves and we cannot........ doctors are also semi-social class btw

2. have you ever seen Star Trek? do you know that one of the character, my fav scifi char of all time btw, often plays music all alone for entertainment.............. and he is questionably sentient............

ANY RL MUSICIAN THAT DOES NOT LIKE HIS/HER OWN MUSIC IS A SELL OUT
that goes for the game too

what the fools do not know is that you're being in their group would have actually helped with the music xp......... as far as the healing xp it would be beneficial to have fewer people in the short run but I would never employ such a tactic and I will not perform with people that do

actually when you play music your to busy playing to listen to your tune. thats why alot of people record themselves while practicing so they can see if they are making mistakes

Anybody ever see the movie, "The Conversation"? Cool moviefrom the seventies with Gene Hackman. Anyway, he's this guy who snoops on people for a living, and the -only- thing this guy does for entertainment is playin his sax to some phonograph at night. I keep feeling like Gene Hackman all the time, and just as frustrated I ain't getting buffed as he is.
