Thread: Musicians: please push for a reduction in the amount of time it takes to buff

The Master Musician buff doubles the buffee's secondary mind stats for 2 hours. The chefs' brandy can more than double the mind stats (depending on the original value, obviously) but only for 40-50 minutes. Given the prices I've seen for the brandy, it is well worth the time and effort to just buy music and dancing buffs.
The music we play is meant to be enjoyed. I didn't become a Master Musician just so Iwould suckat combat--there is a purpose behind being a Master Musicain: I love to entertain people! I lovecontributing to the sense of community in the game. If buffstook only30 seconds to convey, the true entertainment professionals would be gone, totally replaced by "buffbots." A few of us might remain, but overall, "entertainers" would all be crowded into certain cantinas and prostituting themselves to everyone who came through the doors. There would be no business left for any true entertainers.
No, Grief, the problem is not how long buffs take, the problem is how small the buff is. Perhaps if you posted something about makingentertainerbuffs the equivilent of doctor buffs...

If you really are entertaining and your music really is enjoyable I would think people would want to interact with you and enjoy your music for more than 30 seconds without being forced into it.

pretty seriously when i come at you doc buffed with brandyx2, muon, dancer and musician buffs ... even as a low level tka, no one can take on my tka guy since i can heal with C's at will and never ever worry about my mind

Somehow I get the distinct impression you are one of the types of people who turns on winamp or media player every time you step into the cantina...or possibly one of the ones who simply /listens and then uses the healing time to go to the bathroom.
Most of my repeat customers are happy to see me because I am always willing to talk to them, take song/instrument requests, listen to their stories, etc. Believe me, taking the time to stop by a cantina, listen to the player music, and actually talking to your atk entertainers can be one of the most rewarding experiences you'll have in Galaxies.
