Thread: New found respect

I've been combat oriented since I started playing in February. As a goof, I took up Entertaine specifically, muscian. I never, ever thought I would enjoy it. Much less to the extent that I've dropped swordsman and have spent the better part of Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in various cantinas. I enjoy talking (yes, flirting) with the patrons. The downside is the insanely slow time it takes to level. Any Entertainer who mastered while not afk has my profound respect. To be clear, I am NOT hologrinding. I despise that. Unfortunately, Vinjar is sitting in the Coronet cantina, akf, while I am at work. I know people hate it, but I can see how it can become somewhat necessary. Anyway, I plan on mastering within the next couple of weeks and sticking with it for a long time.

Welcome to the profession! I'm glad you're having fun with it. Our profession needs a lot of improvement (e.g., new songs), but at its core it's still fun.

Incidentally, you may be shocked to hear that I leveled up my Musician to master without a single macro on my hotkey bar. That was out of ignorance as much as anything: I didn't know how to make a recursive macro at launch.

Anyway, have fun.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the profession, Vinjar!
I was very much in the same boat as you, enjoying my time atk, but becoming sad at the time it took to level, thus leaving Scip to level up afk while at work and sleeping. Now that that's done, I spend all my time atk with the friends I made while levelling. You won't be looked down upon by most people as long as you're having fun and getting to know them while you're there, which seems to be the case .
Might I suggest you look into getting master entertainer as well. I recently made it, and am loving my mandoviol . Plus we need more master entertainers around so I can have someone to play ceremonial with .
Well, welcome to the musician community!

Thanks for the welcome! I wish I could get master entertainer, but I really dont have the sp. I'm working on politician and I absolutely can not drop TK or I'd have no means to defend myself and make money for the city. I can't wait to get back home today and get to flirting....ummm, I mean interacting with the patrons. Lol, we are having a town party tonight with the mayor providing some of the entertainment.

Welcome to the profession, Vinjar. I'm a realatively new player (started in April) with the intent of being an entertainer. I've since found that it's a heck of a lot of fun and will be around for a bit more. I have done all my playing 100% ATK. I am currently sitting 15k Healing exp from Master Muscian and have no plans to put down my Mandoviol. It's a shame you don't have to points to spend on Master Entertainer as the Mando and Ceremonial are both excellent.

/system message to Vinjar: "You have qualified for the skill Flirtation II!"

I feel your pain on Master Entertainer. I have it, and it leaves me room barely to master Carbineer and have a box or two in medic. But Carbineer probably doesn't take as many skill points as TK.

FWIW, my guy on TC2 surrendered both Master Entertainer and Master Musician to become a Dark Jedi Knight. Bwuhahaha. Phear me.

Master Entertainer is not a "pain". Shame on you! I must admit that I had to go to another server and create a combat character, becauseI could not mess with Durney's skill set. I am soooooooooo looking foward to the next two patchs. Let the Entertainers RE-AWAKEN!

Frankly, combat in this game is rather boring, and with the crazy amount of buffs you can get, you don't really need master anything to take on tough monsters.

THANK YOU!! At least I'm not the only one!

I'm sorry, but the best thing the devs can do is nerf the HECK out of buffs! I mean, every monster can be soloed! No one cares about armor restrictions! The cost of weapon specials mean nothing, all because of buffs.

Remove them, and combat becomes ALOT more interesting

Puts on best TH voice...

Combat balance... alance... alance... alance... Had to get my own echoey bit in there too.

Word on the street, last I heard, is that doc buff amounts are coming down with the combat balance. It would be nice to see a bit less of the immortal superhero hopped up on buffs, but of course to compensate I'd hope that all new future content doesn't amount to more roomfuls of super battle droids.
