To start off: I absolutely hate tipping entertainers, most of the time. Before you say "you cheap ass!", I'll explain.
I got a crapload of mind wounds and battle fatigue, so I go to the cantina to get them healed. I listen to someone playing and/or watch someone dance. If the entertainer is grouped, I'm actually getting healed quicker because the entire group is contributing to the healing. Who should I tip? If I tip the person I listen to or watch, then they're only making money because they got lucky. The other members of the troupe don't get their reward for their contribution to healing me. And knowing how much people here hate those bot types, my idea:
When someone gets a tip, the money goes to a pool. All the members of the group get a box "so-and-so wants to tip your group." with buttons "Accept" and "Decline". This box is available for 10 seconds.
For each member of the group that clicks on the "Accept" button, they are added to the split list.
After the box timer expires, the system splits the cash amongst the group members on the split list. If the credits being tipped doesn't split evenly, then the person that was targeted by the tipper can get the remainder.
If no one wants in on the cash, then it goes to the person that was targeted by the person that was tipping. Alternatively, the cash can go back to the tipper.
I figure with this system, everyone in the group can possibly make some cash while entertaining instead of just the few lucky folks.
Comments? suggestions?

I know there are ways already to split stuff between the group.... It's been a while though I can't recall it off the top of my head.

I didn't think those methods worked for tips, only for looting?
Anyway, that arguement for tipping groups is quite valid. For the longest time (until Buffbots became an issue
), one of the most common requests on the Dancer boards was a /grouptip command.
I like your idea better though. Those that are actually there have to accept the tip. Sounds good ![]()

Hmm that might be. I do know for sure that you if you get tipped you can split money with the group. But I don't remember what that command is right now. I also know that when you split the money it seems to give out more money then you split... at least it did last time I checked it.

Yes, but by the same token, what if only one in the troupe is even acknowledging your existence at all? Is it fair that when you tip him or her, it gets split with all of those who were all talking in /groupchat getting XP off your misery? That is why if this becomes available, it should be under the patron to /grouptip, while also maintaining the preogative to /tip individually and discreetly if need be.

Just tip the ones who talk to you. That is what I do when I am playing my bounty hunter.
When I am playing my musician on a different server, I talk to the patrons. I usually get a few tips because of it. People either chat with me or ignore me. The ones who chat usually did an entertainer profession or two in the past and enjoyed it. They're the best tippers too.
