I went to the entertainer stage near the Coronet entertainer trainer near the starport and started performing for no reason but boredom and I found something interesting.

Well, i was examining the speakers and i got a radial option on it to "Activate Speaker". I clicked on it and i got a system message saying "Speaker is now ready to recieve signal from the microphone".

Then,I immediately went to click the mic and got a radial option to "Activate Microphone". Then I got a system message saying "Microphone now transmitting a signal to the speakers".

My questions are, 1) is this a known option to other musicians, 2) does this actually work, as in sending a musical signal to the speakers in-game, and 3) will this ever be available?

Thanks.

That is quite a bit different. It used to be you could "turn them on and off" but you would, to my recollection, not get a message. Very interesting. Perhaps it has to do with the entertainer quests or some sorely needed new content? Of course, once again, if my recollection is correct. The Mics and Speakers were going to be used so that if you were playing, anyone that entered into the play radius would hear you without having to actually click on you and listen.

Thanks for the info

Turning the speakers and microphone on , and then playing a song will cause NPCs to gather to watch you. This has worked one time for me, so I think it's either a coincidence, or it no longer works. My friend and I did this outside the Coronet Starport and aboutten NPCs walked over and started clapping.

Can't be sure, bears more examination, but this last Tuesday, when we were doing our weekly Theed Starport Jam, I turned on the mic (don't remember turning on the speakers) and got a message like "the microphone is now on and is transmitting a signal."

Probably about 30 minutes later, some guy wandered up to us and said, "How come I can hear you guys, but I didn't listen?" I suspect we were transmitting our song over spatial somehow, for people within range. I'm going to mess with it a bit more and report my findings.

Ok, so I've seen player cantinas out there with speakers in them. How are they acquired, is it a quest?

I've never seen microphones in a player cantina? Is this an obtainable item?

Speakers can be obtained from a Bestine mission, from a guy behind the cantina i think. if you keep doing enough missions you'll get a loudspeaker. maybe i'm thinking of the shisha - not sure. anyone, correct me if i 'm wrong.

as for microphones, I have NO idea if they're attainable, though I think they should be. Please, someone tell me we can get microphones from a quest! I've never seen one for sale...

You get the speakers from any "a criminal," as one of the delivery quests. I could never do it because I keep getting attacked by the guy I'm supposed to talk to, too much of a pain.

There's an easy way to get around that. I have no combat skills, save my Bowcaster - I'm Master Artisan/Musician/Droid Engineer. So, having those guys aggro me was a huge pain.

All you need to do is move within 70m I think (could be more like 50) and type /conv - you'll talk to the guy you're meeting up with, without having him attack you. The key is to converse with him before he can aggro you. Then just run back to the guy you got the mission from to get your reward. If you move too close, though - he'll aggro, and you need to get the mission again.
