Hi,
I was on a break with SWG back when droids were introduced so I missed all the excitement and discussions of the early days.
However, now that I qualified to use mine 2 days ago, I've been wondering why the devs didn't see fit to give us a /droidflourish command that would allow us to really "play" the droid as a second band member?
Bandflos are OK but not always very practical. And being able to direct a command at our own droid would allow us to make it flourish in bigger bands and really compose songs for 2 instruments that sound great.
I'm sure this has been discussed already and you guys all know the answer. So would you share it with me? Inquiring minds want to know.

The only way to make the droid flourish is to use bandflos. You can target your droid's instrument though by using /bandflo 1-8 <instrument> this would cause only your droid to flourish unless someone else in the band was on the same instrument as your droid, but in that case there's not much use in having a droid working on that instrument anyway.

Thanks for the tip! As you said, there is not much use in having a droid duplicate an instrument already in the band so that will do nicely.

Quick sidenote - Irealized that when you have someone playing the same instrument as a droid (or another player in the band, too) the instrument sound they're playing gets louder and more pronounced over the rest of the band. This sounds pretty neat when you really want that bass kickin, so you make your droid do bandfill while someone else. Try playing the same instrument as your droid as see what i mean - start and stop - the instrument sound gets louder.

There is that, but the only time I've used the increased volume from it is so people can actually hear the Mando above the rest of a band.

Also, remember that you can give your droids "solos" by /pausemusic while you're playing with the droid.

Thanks for the tip NewJedi. I've started experimenting a bit with /pausemusic but haven't really made it sound good yet. Plenty of time to learn to use it effectively while I make my way to the top though.

Yeah you can actually write some really cool combinations using this method. I recently arranged a version of Starwars3 that uses a traz and a fanfar - which, as you recall, sound the same, but I give them different flourishes. The melody is played by the Traz, so if I get 2 or 3 people to play that and someone else (or a droid) to play the fanfar, it comes out sounding REALLY cool....
